    Numbers can be grouped so that a sequence that may appear as 000000000 can now appear as 000-000-000 – in this instance the numbers have been separated in groups of 3 characters using a dash separator.

    – So when I create the button, I do not want it to be the save button, I want it to be a separate button in the form that populates/generates the number into the PONum field. Is that what your current example does?
    The Running Sum method works great as long you are happy with creating and running an Access report, but not all requirements want the data in an Access report.
