I have been researching using sequential numbers for invoices an purchase orders, but all of them seem to advance the number eithe every time the document is opened or saved. My purchase order is par of a larger file, and since I will be opening and saving the fil without necessarily writing a purchase order I need more control ove its advancement. I was wondering how I could create a button that whe pressed or selected would advance the number by 1? Also, how could make it create a unique number depending on who’s creating the purchas order. For example, let’s say the user is …
I\’m new to access with that being said where do I put the code Me.txtSequence = Nz(DMax(“[Sequence]”,”tblInquiry”,”Year([InquiryDate]) = “ & Year(Me.[txtInquiryDate])),0)+1when I try to build an expression code I receive an invalid syntax error message.
In this tutorial, we’ll explain how to do an easy setup in InDesign for automatically numbered tickets. We will look at the handy “Data Merge Tool,” which is a great time-saver. Let’s jump into this quick tutorial!
While InDesign veterans may assume everyone already knows this, I can assure you I have worked with very sophisticated documents from designers who did not take advantage of this basic feature. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind as you tackle InDesign challenges is this: If it’s repetitious, tedious, or time-consuming, there’s probably a built-in solution right there in the program. You just need to go look for it.
Coreldraw by itself won’t do sequential numbering, However a workaround is to create a paragraph text box in Corel which contains the font (size, color) as well as the positioning information horizontal component determined by tab, vertical component set by line spacing; then create your number table in Excel, copy & paste into Corel (as rich text format) then copy attributes from the text box you previoushly created … sounds complicated but it’s easy & quick … something worth demonstrating at a Meet
What do you do when you want your first level style to be 01, 02, 03, etc. But then you want the 2nd and 3rd levels to be 2.1, 2.2, 2.1.1, 2.1.2 it keeps picking up the 0 from the first level.Sections will go beyond 10 as well and I don’t want to insert a 0 in before the level as it will read as 010, 011, 012, etc
Creating a sequential list of numbers, in Word, sounds like an intimidating task. Sure, you can create a numbered list quickly enough, but that feature works with additional text – you’re numbering something. If you want a list of just numbers, you have to work a bit harder. Word’s SEQ field might come to mind, but that solution is better suited to template-type numbering. In order words, this field works great if you’re numbering documents, labels, and so on. It doesn’t work so well if you just want to create a list of sequential numbers. You can use it that way, but it’ll be more work than it’s worth.
Number-Pro makes numbering raffle tickets and forms easy using your desktop publishing software like Indesign, Microsoft Word and Publisher and Corel Draw. Number Pro creates a data merge file based on your numbering requirements that can easily be integrated into the desktop publishing software that allows for printing directly to your small business or home printer.
To create the inline numbering sequence, copy the code and the surrounding parentheses. Position the cursor where you want to continue the sequence within your text and press [Ctrl]+V. Figure C shows the result of pasting several throughout the paragraph. At this point, they all display 1.
This does not appear to be a sequential numbering issue. Assigning a sequential number to a record is different from ranking the result set. I would look at a Running Sum to provide a numerical ranking to a result set.
This does not work well with duplicate values. When you compare duplicate values, discontinuous row numbering occurs. If this is not the behavior that you want, you can avoid it by hiding the http://ringringpromotions.org column when you insert the result in a spreadsheet; use the spreadsheet numbering instead.
Another fan of Fusion Pro Desktop here. This is exactly what you need. We have sold both PrintShop Mail and Fusion Pro Desktop for this very application (numbering) and other VDP applications. Fusion Pro Desktop easily beats PrintShop Mail from both a price and performance viewpoint. You could also try Printer’s Bench http://www.elkriversystems.com/ProductsList.aspx for a good entry level package
So, as an example, I’ll start with the style linked to the interrogatory in my multi-level list, type my question, hit return and I’ve got the answer space. Return again, another interrogatory ready to go. Wanted request for production instead of interrogatory? Hit the tab key and it switches to the next list level, which is request for production. (I hope I’ve explained this well enough.)
This is how I see it. A person (passenger) makes a reservation. If the person has never made a reservation before, then they are added to the passenger table, But it really makes no sense to assign a sequential number to the passenger. Otherwise, an entry, just needs to be made in the reservations table. The Reservation needs to include the specific train (number and date so there should be a table for train schedules so all you need is a foreign key), the passenger and date of travel. Here I can understand wanting a sequential number to show passengers booked in a day.
If it’s a bug, then I cannot believe it wasn’t caught before the release. So here it is. I simply put artistic text down on page 1. Select the text and copy to clipboard. Add a new page and paste the text. On my computer, the text changes from artistic text (as copied to clipboard) to paragraph default text left justified across the center of the page. It doesn’t matter how much text I select, it always pastes on the new page as paragraph text left justified and across the center of the page.
With the field code highlighted, click the File tab and choose Options. In Office 2007, click the Office button and then click Word Options. In Word 2003, choose AutoCorrect Options from the Tools menu and skip to #6.
You can also apply numbers by using a menu command. From the Format menu, choose Bullets and Numbering. There are different advantages to both. The following exercises show how to use each method to applying basic numbers to a list.
Second (and more interesting) is that you can apply text formatting to text frames you’ve selected using the Selection tool or the Direct Selection tool. When you do this, InDesign applies the formatting to all of the text in the text frame, including any overset text. InDesign won’t let you use this method to apply formatting to text frames that are linked to other text frames. Tired of using the Type tool to select and format every photo caption on a page? Use the Selection tool to select them all and apply your formatting—it’s easier, and it’s quicker (see Figure 4-1).
Your code looks correct. What do you mean by it doesn’t work? When that code is run, txtAlphaCount should show the next number in sequence. You need to explain further. Also where are you putting that line of code?
I haven’t tried this… But according to the Microsoft instructions about field switches (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/insert-and-format-field-codes-HA010338798.aspx), you can add text to a field code. The text must be in single quote marks, and displays as a constant for the field. The examples on that web page show the text at the end of the field, but you could try it earlier in the field by testing putting ‘120/’ in front of where the SEQ number will go.
Budget is our income and sometimes this is positive. I need to make this column in a query all negitive values. I am using the IIf function but it is not working. Budget: [budget_amount] IIf ([budget_amount] >=0, [budget_amount]*-1, [budget_amount]) or is there another function I could use?
