If there are multiple instances of the NEXT VALUE FOR function specifying the same sequence generator within a single Transact-SQL statement, all those instances return the same value for a given row processed by that Transact-SQL statement. This behavior is consistent with the ANSI standard.
(If you prefer using the keyboard, rather than the mouse, then do this instead of dragging down: select cell A2, hit CTRL+C to copy, then select cell A3 and use SHIFT+PageDown to select all the way down to row 500. Then hit CTRL+V to paste.)
As I indicated, because you want to only generate this number just before saving, I would put this code behind a Save button or another event that runs just before you save the record. So if you want to prevent duplications, you don’t use the expression as a control source, but put the code behind a button or event. Since you have a Save button, put it there.

In my headings, I prefer using an em space instead of a tab, so I deleted ^t and chose Insert Special Character > Em Space from the flyout menu to the right of the Number field. sequential numbering in coreldraw means the current level number (1) will be followed by a period, which will be followed by an em space.
Create the text frame for the numbers in InDesign and if there are more than one ticket per page, link them. Place the text file into the first frame with a shift click to auto flow and create new pages.
Thanks for this tip, it is close to what I need in my requirement specification – but my problem is that I need the (requirement-)numbers to be allocated once a requirement is defined, and then stay with that value ‘forever’, and at the same time be sure to have unique (requirement-)numbers.
The next step is to create the simple Excel workbook that contains the ticket numbers. Open a blank Excel sheet. Using Figure B as a guide, create the ticket numbering sheet and save it, making sure to note the new workbook’s name and location. As we discussed earlier, the Excel workbook stores the ticket numbers. In this example, we’ll create 11 tickets numbered 100 through 110. You’ll need to update the ticket values for each merge.
Start writing the text for the numbers. In this case, I typed ticket “nr.” Leave any numbers out. This will be filled in by the data file. As you can see, the text box wraps around the full tickets with crop marks.

Transact-SQL statements that use SELECT * will receive the new column as the last column instead of the first column. If this is not acceptable, then you must create an entirely new table, move the data to it, and then recreate the permissions on the new table.

Step 5: Then click Add button to add your created sequence into above list box, and select the item that you are created, then click Fill Range button to insert the sequence numbers into the selected range. See screenshots:
Zoom into the tickets where you have placed the text for the numbering and click on the data merge palette. This should be open already since we already called in the data file in Step 11. Place the text cursor behind the last letter of your text. Then click on the text data file (100.txt) in the Data Merge Palette.

If you don’t want to use one of the existing bullet characters, you can add other bullet characters to the Bullet Character grid. A bullet character that is available in one font may not be available in another font. You can choose whether the font is remembered with any bullet character you add.
Is there a way to sync callout numbers to correspond with note numbers. When I add or delete notes in my drawings it takes to much time to update the callout number in the drawings. I need to figure out a way for the note and corresponding callout to change at the same time.
In Word 2000, when you begin a numbered list, it is an Outline Numbered list by default. Therefore, you do not need to go into the Bullets & Numbering command unless you plan on changing the default scheme.
Finally,you said: “I’m not sure how the display would work as far as searching for specific Artifact IDs in the future.”. This will not be a problem. The best solution is to use a combobox to select the Artifact ID. The relevant properties of that combo would be:
