In February 1953, the company acquired the Computer Research Corporation (CRC),[11] after which it created a specialized electronics division. In 1956, NCR introduced its first electronic device, the Class 29 Post-Tronic, a bank machine using magnetic stripe technology. With the General Electric Company (now known as GE ), the company manufactured its first transistor-based computer in 1957, the NCR 304. Also in the 1950s NCR introduced MICR (magnetic ink character recognition)[12] and the NCR 3100 accounting machines.[13]

I use a little program called “Number It” I purchased on E-bay a couple of years ago. It will print the ticket (from bmp file) and number on the Canon 3200 in one pass. BW or Color. Nice little program and well worth the $50-80 price.

Once you’re sure that the legal bases are covered, you’ll want to be sure that your raffle tickets make running the show easy and successful. Printing your own tickets can help. It could save you money and it gives you complete control over how your tickets look.

I don’t want to have to data entry to finish each line. Will take forever. Is there a way to get a same, same format in microsoft word. I have used a sequence number generator to get a list. Its the comma and second duplicate # that is the problem.

This video tutorial demonstrates how easy it is to automatically number raffle tickets in Microsoft Word. Simply download a raffle tickets template, download our number series file, and Mail Merge to create the ticket numbers.

Once you’re finished with the design, go to the “Mailings” ribbon to start the mail merge. You’ll see that the “Update Labels” is grayed out. Change that by clicking on Start Mail Merge > Labels > Cancel.

Answer: In Microsoft Windows, if you are auto-saving PDFs to a certain location, you must close the document and re-open it to view your changes. Mac OS X should display any changes automatically. It is a basic difference of the two operating systems.

Daniel: InDesign doesn’t really do sequential numbering by itself… well, it does, but only through the paragraph numbering feature. You might be able to get it to work for serial numbers: http://indesignsecrets.com/figure-numbering-in-indesign-and-cross-references-to-them.php

Thank you for these instructions!! I’m using them to auto number my son’s baseball team raffle tickets which we hand numbered last year (UGH!). I followed the instructions exactly but for some reason the numbering is starting at 2 every time. I did deselect the checkbox about the column headers which seems the obvious culprit. Any ideas? I’m using Word on a PC. Thanks!!

Our aggressive pricing structure permits resellers to take advantage of wholesale like pricing. If you are a reseller, make sure to select the “Reseller” option when entering your quantities etc. for your order, so that we will not print our logo on the tickets.

V-Series: 8500 (VRX Operating System) and 9800 (VRX/E Operating System). These were “V” series, comparable to mainframes, supporting “Page mode” terminals. The hardware did have similarities with the I-Series while the operating system and user interface was totally different.

Your numbering jobs are now done in seconds rather than hours — cleaner, faster, and leaner than ever before! Perfect for repeat jobs, you can re-import previously numbered PDFs — saving time and money.

Layout your ticket in InDesign, one on each page, using the Page Number function to number the tickets. If you have something like Imposer Pro (I know it doesn’t work from InDesign CS3) you can, for instance, impose the pages 4up consecutive and get 4 tickets on an A4. Alternatively, make a PDF of the whole document and impose (manually, if you have to), the advantage here is that this can work as a template for other tickets, simply make a new PDF of the same size and update the PDF in the template document every time you have a new raffle ticket to do.

If your order is placed on the weekend or a holiday, then we will move our production to the next regular working day. PLEASE NOTE that if you order the day before or after a holiday expect a delay until the next working day after the holiday. When Holidays are in the middle of the week this will delay production as well. We do not have any production on Holidays or weekends.

The next step is to create the simple Excel workbook that contains the ticket numbers. Open a blank Excel sheet. Using Figure B as a guide, create the ticket numbering sheet and save it, making sure to note the new workbook’s name and location. As we discussed earlier, the Excel workbook stores the ticket numbers. In this example, we’ll create 11 tickets numbered 100 through 110. You’ll need to update the ticket values for each merge.

The number of k-combinations from a given set S of n elements is often denoted in elementary combinatorics texts by C ( n , k ) {\displaystyle C(n,k)} , or by a variation such as C k n {\displaystyle C_{k}^{n}} , n C k {\displaystyle {}_{n}C_{k}} , n C k {\displaystyle {}^{n}C_{k}} , C n , k {\displaystyle C_{n,k}} or even C n k {\displaystyle C_{n}^{k}} (the latter form was standard in French, Romanian, Russian, Chinese[4] and Polish texts[citation needed]). The same number however occurs in many other mathematical contexts, where it is denoted by ( n k ) {\displaystyle {\tbinom {n}{k}}} (often read as “n choose k”); notably it occurs as a coefficient in the binomial formula, hence its name binomial coefficient. One can define ( n k ) {\displaystyle {\tbinom {n}{k}}} raffle tickets with large numbers all natural numbers k at once by the relation

Shrinkwrap is a thin, plastic wrapping designed to group the items you order into desired quantities. Additionally, it helps your order arrive in tip-top condition because it reduces rubbing during shipping. It is called “shrinkwrap” because after the plastic is placed around each bundle, it is shrunk with gentle heat for a better fit.

Should you find a template you like, but need the sequential numbering, you can order those from them, too. You’ll get your tickets in sheets with micro-perforations. Then you can tear them apart like stamps. Have your volunteers assemble them into booklets and you’re ready to go.

Actually this can be done with a single number column. 4 page ID document with the same <> on all four pages; maybe a four page document with the data field on the master page. (Tested, yes. 4 page data merge with variable on the master)

Open Word and create a new document and create one raffle ticket. You want to make it about the right size so that you can fit four tickets on the page. Leave space for the ticket numbers, which you’ll add in a minute. Something like this:

Thanks I have my word ticket page set up with the code you gave me. Thank you in advance. I need to set up the mail merge so I can print blocks of tickets off as I need them. How do I go about setting this up? Do I have to have a stub, ticket format like the original ticket format?

Your raffle might be subject to gaming commission or tax laws. Check with your municipality, state or province, and federal governments to make sure your raffle is legal. These government departments aren’t just enforcers. They are often great resources on how to run a successful fund raising raffle. Raffles are fun! Getting in trouble with the law or tax man is not.

In the example I explained, I was using a list, but did it with un-linked text boxes using “continue from previous number” and “continue numbers across stories.” I’m guessing that there is no way to tell InDesign that even though there are 4 text boxes on the page, that there are two different lists? I’d probably have to just create two threaded stories for that scenario to work.

One can enumerate all k-combinations of a given set S of n elements in some fixed order, which establishes a bijection from an interval of ( n k ) {\displaystyle {\tbinom {n}{k}}} integers with the set of those k-combinations. Assuming S is itself ordered, for instance S = { 1, 2, …, n }, there are two natural possibilities for ordering its k-combinations: by comparing their smallest elements first (as in the illustrations above) or by comparing their largest elements first. The latter option has the advantage that adding a new largest element to S will not change the initial part of the enumeration, but just add the new k-combinations of the larger set after the previous ones. Repeating this process, the enumeration can be extended indefinitely with k-combinations of ever larger sets. If moreover the intervals of the integers are taken to start at 0, then the k-combination at a given place i in the enumeration can be computed easily from i, and the bijection so obtained is known as the combinatorial number system. It is also known as “rank”/”ranking” and “unranking” in computational mathematics.[6][7]

Summary: Need to add a unique serial number to each printed copy of your document? Here’s a quick way to print such numbered versions. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003. You can find a version of this tip for the ribbon interface of Word (Word 2007 and later) here: Using Sequential Document Serial Numbers.)

You might find it simpler to have a one row table, with no ‘Next Record’ fields and change the merge type to Directory. The attached is your original with the fieldnames changed and all rows except the first and the NEXT field removed. As a directory it too merges as intended.

Our experience, expertise, and resources allow us to provide cheap ncr printing and ultra-affordable business services while maintaining our original small business mentality towards keeping our clients as happy as possible.

I also use InDesign. An Excel file for numbering is easy to create. Then find DataMerge under Automate to link the data file. When you are ready to export, use the create PDF right on the Datamerge window. You can print as cut / stack on the Fiery (or CREO). REMEMBER – if your customer wants them stapled into books of 6 (for example) each stack has to be divisible by 6 if you are going to staple then cut into individual books.

Once you are happy with your basic layout, copy everything three times so you have a page of four tickets. At this point, they won’t be numbered tickets just yet, you will add the numbers in a moment:

The random sequence is misleading. The From and To numbers here indicate the possible numbers that can be generated, but the count indicates the number of final records that will be produced. For example, if the From number is 1, the To number is 10 and the count is 3, then a number sequence of 2, 6, 7 is a possible result.
