Typically the second option of saving as a CSV file is the one to choose for use with Data Merge. Click the create button to choose a file name and location, make sure that a header has been assigned and click OK. This creates the CSV file that contains the sequential numbers that can then be used in a Data Merge by opening the Data Merge palette, clicking the flyout and clicking Select Data Source…

It depends what the design is for the tickets. But if you set up primary text frames, linked for the area for the numbers, you can create a numbered list with the numbering format you want. Then, just pour in a whole load of paragraph returns that have that numbered list applied. And make sure each numbered paragraph is set to start in the next column.

The company began as the National Manufacturing Company of Dayton, Ohio, was established to manufacture and sell the first mechanical cash register invented in 1879 by James Ritty. In 1884, the company and patents were bought by John Henry Patterson and his brother Frank Jefferson Patterson, and the firm was renamed the National Cash Register Company. Patterson formed NCR into one of the first modern American companies by introducing new, aggressive sales methods and business techniques. He established the first sales training school in 1893 and introduced a comprehensive social welfare program for his factory workers.

I found a # sequence generator that can give me one column with the sequence out to whatever I need (say 30,000) however, I can’t get a duplicate number. I need the ticket and the stub to have the same number.

When the context menu opens, look for the choice Edit Field…. If it doesn’t exist, then your template doesn’t use the SEQ function. If it does exist, click on it. When the next window opens, you should see SEQ in the Advance field properties box. That template definitely uses SEQ.

I use reverse NCR, you could use straight, but you would have to select face down as an option. My only problem with numbering NCR has been that I can’t pull a custom NCR ( White 20#,Canary 20#, 150 Tag) from 3 different trays AND number it at the same time. In that case I print it with the numbers in 3 separate identical runs. I then hand collate it afterwards This problem is a software limitation(FreeFlow). You can’t specify that every nth page gets pulled from tray X. The other option availabe to me is to not number on the Xerox but print it collating it from separate trays.(Tray 1age 1, Exception pages defined to pull paper from the other trays.)

It’s also a good idea to create your print file with more Tickets (more Books) than you initially think you’ll need. You can then easily print more Tickets if needed later, without having to re-create the print file with extra Books.

We use the auto page numbering trick here, the trick is to do it as spreads. You just make your pages the same size as the ticket with crops and bleeds. Then set up the shell on the master page and place your auto page number where you want your numbers. Each pages is the next number. You can also have two sets of numbers for perforated ticket. You then can use the page start options to add to the numbers and keep the same number of total numbers. For example you would do a new page start after number 99. 0001 to 0099 so it doesn’t add two “0’s” to the front of 100 and you get 00100 when you want 0100. Works great for small quantities, we have done up to 1000+ tickets and once you do it once or twice it is a snap to set up. To avoid having to do 1000 pages just send the tickets in groups. Usually between 25 to 100 at a time works good depending on artwork file size. Just save each time before sending to printer and name the file with what the tickets are. Like “MyTickets-0001-0100.Indd”. Makes it easier to go back if you have a problem. You can even do two rolls of tickets if your using 12 x 18 sheets by flipping the sheet and doing one row along the top and one along the bottom on reverse side. That is if your ticket is single Sided. Two sided tickets are a bit trickier. 🙂

There are various algorithms to pick out a random combination from a given set or list. Rejection sampling is extremely slow for large sample sizes. One way to select a k-combination efficiently from a population of size n is to iterate across each element of the population, and at each step pick that element with a dynamically changing probability of k − # samples chosen n − # samples visited {\displaystyle {\frac {k-\#{\text{samples chosen}}}{n-\#{\text{samples visited}}}}} . (see reservoir sampling).

Sometimes numbers can be descending or ascending depending on the requirements of the job needed.

Then where you want the number to appear first, press Ctrl-F9 to create a pair of field braces (ie ‘{}’) and fill in between them so that you get ‘{SEQ Ticket \# 00000}’. Then, where you want the duplicate number to appear, create another field and fill it it so that you get ‘{SEQ Ticket \c \# 00000}’. From there it’s mostly just a matter of duplicating the whole ticket however many times you want. When you’re done press Ctrl-A to select the whole document, then press F9 to update the fields.

In 1912 the company was found guilty of violating the Sherman Antitrust Act. Patterson, Deeds, Watson and 25 other NCR executives and managers were convicted of illegal anti-competitive sales practices and were sentenced to one year of imprisonment. Their convictions were unpopular with the public due to the efforts of Patterson and Watson to help those affected by the Dayton, Ohio floods of 1913, but efforts to have them pardoned by President Woodrow Wilson were unsuccessful. However, their convictions were overturned on appeal in 1915 on the grounds that important defense evidence should have been admitted.

Creating a sequential list of numbers, in Word, sounds like an intimidating task. Sure, you can create a numbered list quickly enough, but that feature works with additional text – you’re numbering something. If you want a list of just numbers, you have to work a bit harder. Word’s SEQ field might come to mind, but that solution is better suited to template-type numbering. In order words, this field works great if you’re numbering documents, labels, and so on. It doesn’t work so well if you just want to create a list of raffle ticket numbering in word 2007 numbers. You can use it that way, but it’ll be more work than it’s worth.

A solution of the above Diophantine equation can be represented by x 1 {\displaystyle x_{1}} stars, a separator (a bar), then x 2 {\displaystyle x_{2}} more stars, another separator, and so on. The total number of stars in this representation is k and the number of bars is n – 1 (since no separator is needed at the very end). Thus, a string of k + n – 1 symbols (stars and bars) corresponds to a solution if there are k stars in the string. Any solution can be represented by choosing k out of k + n – 1 positions to place stars and filling the remaining positions with bars. For example, the solution x 1 = 3 , x 2 = 2 , x 3 = 0 , x 4 = 5 {\displaystyle x_{1}=3,x_{2}=2,x_{3}=0,x_{4}=5} of the equation x 1 + x 2 + x 3 + x 4 = 10 {\displaystyle x_{1}+x_{2}+x_{3}+x_{4}=10} can be represented by

But would like a Numbering Program which will work with a PC using PDF converted layouts. I presume the PDF file formatting is better than converting the base layout to be numbered to TIFF of Jpeg? Is this a proper assumption?

Given that Word can support 2,147,483,647 SEQ fields, the whole job could be done in a single document containing 30,000 tickets. On my system, creating such a document took only a few minutes and, once created took about two minutes to update the fields – and that was with about 40,000 pairs of SEQ fields coded as {SEQ Ticket \# 00000} and {SEQ Ticket \c \# 00000}. This number formatting is enough to go to 99,999 tickets.

A raffle is a gambling competition in which people obtain numbered tickets, each ticket having the chance of winning a prize. At a set time, the winners are drawn from a container holding a copy of every number. The drawn tickets are checked against a collection of prizes with numbers attached to them, and the holder of the ticket wins the prize.

Hi, this is a great write up. I am very new to InDesign and i print onto a range of products and my first order with sequential numbering came up (serial numbers), I have the template made in illustrator and i also have the numbers added (00001 on all of the art work). A friend told me InDesign has a function for automatically incrasing the numbers by 1 for each art work. I have 105 pieces per template, is there a way to import the design and then sort the number (already text edible) and then save as a pdf then send to print?

There’s a much less expensive plug-in from Appligent, called StampPDF, that can stamp the numbers on (with a richer feature set than QIP), but I don’t think it can duplicate the pages for you. But maybe it can stamp four pages for you before incrementing (I took a quick look and didn’t see it). You might want to check it out (they have a free trial).

By the way, there’s another, simpler, free script (called LotteryNumbers, from Loic Aigon at Ozalto) which purely creates sequences that increase by 1 and can contain trailing zeros (if required) — this is also great for most numbering purposes.

I have done this twice now, getting flustered. The ticket part the person keeps has the correct sequential number on it, but the side that we keep has the same number on it for the whole page. What part am I missing, at first I did not uncheck the box, but this time I did but have the same number on the stub side that we keep with the person’s name, etc

Actually this can be done with a single number column. 4 page ID document with the same <> on all four pages; maybe a four page document with the data field on the master page. (Tested, yes. 4 page data merge with variable on the master)

These tickets are so called because of their origin as small cards within a traditional wall mounted work planning system when this kind of support started. Operators or staff receiving a call or query from a user would fill out a small card with the user’s details and a brief summary of the request and place it into a position (usually the last) in a column of pending slots for an appropriate engineer, so determining the staff member who would deal with the query and the priority of the request.

One of NCR’s first significant acquisitions after becoming independent from AT&T came in July 1997, when it purchased Compris Technologies, a privately held company in Kennesaw, Georgia that produced software for restaurant chains.[18] In November 1997, NCR purchased Dataworks Inc., a 60-person privately held company in San Antonio, Texas.[19]

Hi – are you creating your own tickets using the instructions on this page? If so, you can of course change the font and everything else in your Word document. If you are using the Raffle Ticket Creator app (app.raffleticketcreator.com) then you can’t change the font size … you’ll just need to tinker with the exact words that you are including in order to get them to fit on the page. Hope that helps!

It doesn’t work so well if you just want to create a list of sequential numbers. You can use it that way, but it’ll be more work than it’s worth.

When you are ready to print, you will need to either merge the data to a new document or straight to your printer. I recommend merging to a new document so you can preview the entire thing before printing. The icons look like (Merge to Document, Merge to Printer)

I’m not sure which version of InDesign first introduced printing Thumbnails like this, but even if yours doesn’t support that, your printer driver may have a similar feature of its own. Check the printer’s own dialog box by clicking “Setup…” near the bottom left corner of the Print dialog and dismissing the warning, then clicking “Preferences…” in Windows’s Print dialog that comes up (I’m not sure how to access this on Mac OS X, but I’m pretty sure there’s an easy way). For instance, on many HP printers, the feature you want is called “Pages per sheet” and has a drop-down offering 1, 2, 4, 9, or 16 pages per sheet.

wow, what a relief to find these solutions! I had to gang 250 stickers on a single page and number them sequentially (so, page numbering and master page solutions wouldn’t work). The tips for Indd ‘numbered lists’ worked like a charm, even tho I’m in CS5. This was a lifesaver; MANY thanks!

I use a little program called “Number It” I purchased on E-bay a couple of years ago. It will print the ticket (from bmp file) and number on the Canon 3200 in one pass. BW or Color. Nice little program and well worth the $50-80 price.

where n! denotes the factorial of n. It is obtained from the previous formula by multiplying denominator and numerator by (n − k)!, so it is certainly inferior as a method of computation to that formula.

There are many types of machines printers used to number Carbonless forms. One style is a letter press, another is a pneumatic numbering head which uses air pressure do drive a numbering head and crash imprint the number on the top sheet transferring the number to the other sheets. For example, if you were numbering a 2 part carbonless form you would have a black or red number on the top sheet and a crashed number on the second sheet. The image on the second sheet would appear black http://ringringpromotions.org matter what ink was on the top sheet as the carbonless paper transfers the image in black.

The SEQ or Sequential Numbering Function in Word is the best and quickest way to number your tickets. Many raffle ticket templates use them, yet few sites explain how it works. To see if it uses the SEQ function, you need to download the template first. Then, open it in Word, click right in the middle of where a serial number is, and then right-click.

Hello Bruce, I seem to be having a different problem altogether. I created my ticket in word using logos and text boxes as needed, ticket looks great. I followed your very clear instructions but when I did the Finish & Merge I got this message, “You cannot include DATA, NEXT, NEXTIF, or SKIPIF fields in comments, headers, footers, footnotes or endnotes.” I then click on OK and get this, “A field calculation error occurred in record 1. Bruce any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

In 1990, NCR introduced the System 3000, a seven-level family of computers based on Intel’s 386 and 486 CPUs. The majority of the System 3000 range utilised IBM’s Micro Channel architecture rather than the more prevalent ISA architecture, and utilised SCSI peripherals as well as the more popular parallel and serial port interfaces, resulting in a premium product with premium pricing. The 3600, through NCR subsidiary Applied Digital Data Systems supported both the Pick Operating System and Prime Information.[15]

You’ll need to merge two documents: the Publisher document, or ticket, and an Excel workbook that contains the numbers you want to use to number those tickets. Please don’t let the term mail merge intimidate you. Merging a Publisher document to generate sequential numbers is easy.

First, create a numbering “list” by choosing Type > Bulleted & Numbered Lists > Define Lists. Then click New to create a new list. You can name it anything you want, but make sure the Continued Numbers across Stories is enabled:

The original form in pdf format was read and printed by the Adobe Reader to the numberED provided numberED printer – creating a Windows spool file used by numberED as a background page on which the numbers and text were added. numberED then printed the combined numbers and text with background form to a printer in one pass. Some of the output (the last 5 sets of the 1800 sets) is captured here as a pdf file for your viewing convenience.

* The solution assumes that there is only one stack to cut, but really there could be dozens of stacks. Take a run of the numbers 1-10000 for example. Let’s say you get 4-up on a sheet and the biggest stack that will fit in the guillotine is 500 sheets. A true cut and stack solution will print on the first stack 1-500, 501-1000, 1001-1500, 1501-2000. Ideal because the numbers can be guillotined and placed back onto a pallet for its next process. It also means I can provide these numbers first to the client and then they can wait for the other numbers (in case they had run out of stock and were in a hurry for replenishment stock). The solution doesn’t do that – instead, the first 500 stack will have the numbers 1-500, 2501-3000, 5001-5500, 7501-8000. That means not only is placement back onto the pallet confusing, but the customer has to wait for the artwork to be completely printed before even getting the first half of numbers. True, I could run the script several times to get the appropriate stacks, but why should I if the script did what I wanted? Especially if there are hundreds of stacks to print?

In this tutorial, we’ll explain how to do an easy setup in InDesign for automatically numbered raffle tickets. We will look at the handy “Data Merge Tool,” which is a great time-saver. Let’s jump into this quick tutorial!

We also want to setup right away the crop marks for the tickets. Create another layer and call it “crop marks & score marks.” We will place the crop marks and the score line onto this layer. Start placing crop marks that you create with the Pen Tool (P) around the ticket.

I want to make 300 numbered tickets for an event. The number on one side must match the number on the stub end that is given to the ticket holder. What is the best way to set up a document to do this without having to manually enter 300 numbers?

We created a spreadsheet with numbers running in one column in 4-out number groups: 1, 251, 501, 751, etc. and use the multiple records set-up. Our recent challenge was to take that spread sheet and do the 4-out number groupings in threes for reverse collate 3-part NCR on a copier. Takes a bit of time to set up but worth it in the long run.

In 1953 chemists Barrett K. Green and Lowell Schleicher of NCR in Dayton submitted a patent “Pressure responsive record materials” for a carbon-less copy paper. This became US Patent 2,730,457 and was commercialized as “NCR Paper.”

Shrinkwrap is a thin, plastic wrapping designed to group the items you order into desired quantities. Additionally, it helps your order arrive in tip-top condition because it reduces rubbing during shipping. It is called “shrinkwrap” because after the plastic is placed around each bundle, it is shrunk with gentle heat for a better fit.

for 0 ≤ k ≤ n. This expresses a symmetry that is evident from the binomial formula, and can also be understood in terms of k-combinations by taking the complement of such a combination, which is an (n − k)-combination.

I just checked my original NCR job which was 3 part. I have a Master A, B, and C. All start at the same number. What you suggest sounds almost too good to be true. I just created a 5 page file with auto page numbering. I have a large job printing. Should be finishing up in 5 minutes or so. Be right back.

I have the document already set up as a 2 page document, but with the script I provided in the link that I got from esmith’s post, it has the first page (white) as 1001, and the second page (yellow) 1002.

I know that PrintShopMail will do it, but I was wandering if there was a less expensive solution out there so that I could get numbered tickets (usually 4-up) right off the Xerox. I just want to avoid having to go the the Windmill after trimming and doing it the old fashion way. There is a tiny little copy shop here in town that is doing it, and am willing to bet that they are not using PrintShopMail, but I’m also not going to ask them to share their methods with a competitor. There has to be cheaper solution. I know that I can do it with auto page numbering in Indesign, but that means I can only print raffle tickets 1-up which wont work.

Another fan of Fusion Pro Desktop here. This is exactly what you need. We have sold both PrintShop Mail and Fusion Pro Desktop for this very application (numbering) and other VDP applications. Fusion Pro Desktop easily beats PrintShop Mail from both a price and performance viewpoint. You could also try Printer’s Bench http://www.elkriversystems.com/ProductsList.aspx for a good entry level package

You don’t have to be a born salesperson to move all your tickets, but the better your sales tactics, the more successful you’ll probably be. Peter Kajanzy teaches how to crush a sale with pro techniques. One bit of advice he offers: When people ask for the price, instead of doing a complex breakdown of one for $2, three for $5, and so on, go straight to “You can buy five tickets for $8.” Generally, you don’t want potential buyers to have to do a lot of math in their heads. Make it easy on them by offering a bundle price. Other tips to help you sell include perfecting your sales pitch:

I would suggest your second option. Now, I believe if you run a data merge thru InDesign, you should only have to type in the quantity of 2 from the print dialog box when you send it to the iGen. From your front-end at the press, there should be duplicates of each record. ….However, I could be completely wrong so its just a suggestion to try.

The “brown” logo ticket is very basic, but being able to customize it with the pertinent information works just fine. This is an interesting, muted color for a ticket, perhaps not very popular, but it worked for us!

Edit: I copied and pasted the the first page of my original ticket into a new document and I see how you got the place marker to display <> now that I added the header field to my original spreadsheet. But I still have the mismatch.

Having sequential numbers printed on carbonless forms or other printed pieces, such as note pads, means to print a number on the form or printed item and the next form or printed item will have the next number in the sequence. Sometimes numbers can be descending or ascending depending on the requirements of the job needed.

Then, when you go to print, click on the “Setup” tab of the Print dialog, then check “Thumbnails” towards the bottom. Select the gang-up layout of the thumbnails from the associated drop-down list. Then print. Voila!!

There’s an old Steve Martin joke about how to make a million dollars which starts, “First, get a million dollars…” That’s the key to this trick, too: First, get a bunch of numbers. Here’s a file with 1,197 numbers in it. Now import or paste those numbers into a thread so that the numbers appear in the right place. If you need two matching numbers, just import it twice.

For this single position number there is an article at InDesignSecrets.com using a page number rather than Data Merge. (Most of my numbering is “cut stack” jobs where there are multiple up, printed than cut which prohibits the page number technique; I use multi column data sources)

If your order is placed on the weekend or a holiday, then we will move our production to the next regular working day. PLEASE NOTE that if you order the day before or after a holiday expect a delay until the next working day after the holiday. When Holidays are in the middle of the week this will delay production as well. We do not have any production on Holidays or weekends.

There’s a much less expensive plug-in from Appligent, called StampPDF, that can stamp the numbers on (with a richer feature set than QIP), but I don’t think it can duplicate the pages for you. But maybe it can stamp four pages for you before incrementing (I http://thedailyrant.net a quick look and didn’t see it). You might want to check it out (they have a free trial).

Watson—fired by Patterson in 1914—eventually worked his way up to general sales manager. At an uninspiring sales meeting, Watson interrupted, saying The trouble with every one of us is that we don’t think enough. We don’t get paid for working with our feet — we get paid for working with our heads. Watson then wrote THINK on the easel.[6] Signs with this motto were later erected in NCR factory buildings, sales offices and club rooms during the mid-1890s. “THINK” later became a widely known symbol of IBM, which was created by Watson after he joined the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR).[7]

Yes, I’m a little confused by your brief too. The script that I describe here will create an array of numbers using any step value that it offers, including by 1 number each time. Whether you put the resulting list directly into InDesign as text, or indirectly using the Data Merge feature is up to you. Perhaps learn more about the Data Merge feature of InDesign itself – David Blatner http://mywebspider.com a great series on Lynda.com that will explain Data Merge much more than I can on this thread.

An issue tracking system (also ITS, trouble ticket system, support ticket, request management or incident ticket system) is a computer software package that manages and maintains lists of issues,[1] as needed by an organization. Issue tracking systems are commonly used in an organization’s customer support call center to create, update, and resolve reported customer issues, or even issues reported by that organization’s other employees. A support ticket should include vital information for the account involved and the issue encountered. An issue tracking system often also contains a knowledge base containing information on each customer, resolutions to common problems, and other such data. An issue tracking system is similar to a “bugtracker”, and often, a software company will sell both, and some bugtrackers are capable of being used as an issue tracking system, and vice versa. Consistent use of an issue or bug tracking system is considered one of the “hallmarks of a good software team”.[2]

Grocery stores: A folding table and a couple of colorful posters are all you need to set up an attractive display outside of a grocery store or supermarket. People are going inside to shop, so they have money.

If you need to have your forms numbered, please indicate the starting number in the notes box on the shipping screen when you check out. Keep in mind that crash numbering in red requires additional production days.

This result can be verified by listing all the 3-multisubsets of the set S = {1,2,3,4}. This is displayed in the following table.[14] The second column shows the nonnegative integer solutions [ x 1 , x 2 , x 3 , x 4 ] {\displaystyle [x_{1},x_{2},x_{3},x_{4}]} of the equation x 1 + x 2 + x 3 + x 4 = 3 {\displaystyle x_{1}+x_{2}+x_{3}+x_{4}=3} and the last column gives the stars and bars representation of the solutions.[15]

In August 2011, NCR purchased Radiant Systems, a hospitality and retail systems company, for US$1.2 billion.[26] Radiant’s hospitality division turned into a new Hospitality Line of Business within NCR. Radiant’s petroleum and convenience retail business became part of its retail line of business. Several Radiant executives remained on board, including Scott Kingsfield, who was a general manager of NCR’s Retail Line of Business and left NCR in 2014, and Andy Heyman, who became general manager of NCR’s Financial Services line of business.

In 1962, NCR introduced the NCR-315 Electronic Data Processing System which included the CRAM storage device, the first automated mass storage alternative to magnetic tape libraries accessed manually by computer operators. The NCR 390 and 500 computers were also offered to customers who did not need the full power of the 315. The NCR 390 accepted four types of input: magnetic ledger cards, punched cards, punched tape, and keyboard entry, with a tape read speed of 400 characters a second.[13] The company’s first all-integrated circuit computer was the Century 100 of 1968. The Century 200 was added in 1970. The line was extended through the Century 300.[14] The Century series was followed by the Criterion series in 1976, NCR’s first virtual machine system.

Issues can have several aspects to them. Each issue in the system may have an urgency value assigned to it, based on the overall importance of that issue. Low or zero urgency issues are minor and should be resolved as time permits. Other details of issues include the customer experiencing the issue (whether external or internal), date of submission, detailed descriptions of the problem being experienced, attempted solutions or work-arounds, and other relevant information. As previously noted, each issue maintains a history of each change.

50xx-series; The initial models introduced in 1983 were the 5070 (interior vestibule) and 5080 (Through The Wall or TTW) introduced a number of features which have become standard among ATMs. Most notably, the individual functions of the ATM are divided among discrete modules which can be http://mywebspider.com removed and replaced for repair or replenishment. The 5080 featured the standard anti-vandal smoked perspex screen which covered the keypad and screen until the cardholder inserted their card. The enhanced 5084 TTW model appeared in 1987, and had an improved anti-vandal fascia and was the first ATM to dispense with the need for the retracting perspex screen. The 5085 offered the first crude deposit function; with the machine supplying the deposit envelopes which were subsequently stored in the machine’s safe for subsequent back office processing.

When John H. Patterson and his brother took over the company, cash registers were expensive ($50 USD) and only about a dozen of “Ritty’s Incorruptible Cashier” machines were in use. There was little demand for the expensive device, but Patterson believed the product would sell once shopkeepers understood it would drastically decrease theft by salesclerks. He created a sales team known as the “American Selling Force” which worked on commissions and followed a standard sales script, the “N.C.R. Primer.” The philosophy was to sell a business function rather than just a piece of machinery. Sales demonstrations were set up in hotels (away from the distractions of the buyer’s business) depicting a store interior complete with real merchandise and real cash. The sale prospect was described as the “P.P.” or “Probable Purchaser.” Once initial objections were swept aside and the P.P. admitted to internal theft losses, the product was demonstrated along with large business charts and diagrams. The deal was sealed with a 25 cent cigar.[8]

Now Option/Alt-click on the Autonumbering button in the Control panel (or choose Bullets and Numbering from the Control panel flyout menu) and choose the list you created in the Lists pop-up menu. You might want to adjust the other settings to match this:

There are various algorithms to pick out a random combination from a given set or list. Rejection sampling is extremely slow for large sample sizes. One way to select a k-combination efficiently from a population of size n is to iterate across each element of the population, and at each step pick that element with a dynamically changing probability of k − # samples chosen n − # samples visited {\displaystyle {\frac {k-\#{\text{samples chosen}}}{n-\#{\text{samples visited}}}}} . (see reservoir sampling).

Drag a horizontal and vertical guide onto the page. Set them both to 1p6 (18pt). To align them select the guide with the selection Tool (V) and type the number into the X and Y tab. This will ensure that the guides are set to the exact number.

The “brown” logo ticket is very basic, but being able to customize it with the pertinent information works just fine. This is an interesting, muted color for a ticket, perhaps not very popular, but it worked for us!

wow, what a relief to find these solutions! I had to gang 250 stickers on a single page and number them sequentially (so, page numbering and master page solutions wouldn’t work). The tips for Indd ‘numbered lists’ worked like a charm, even tho I’m in CS5. This was a lifesaver; MANY thanks!

This website was easy to work with and tickets printed exactly as I designed. Affordable and quick, the tickets printed and shipped the next day. I will use this website again next year for our annual raffle.

It took only four years to reach 100% ET. Together, IATA and airlines, travel agents, airports, system providers, and GDSs have moved an entire industry from the paper age into the full electronic era. Armed with a mandate from the IATA Board, StB was able to mobilise the industry. Through local engagement, the ET team was able to understand and meet the varying needs of airlines – from those who needed little help to those who hadn’t issued a single electronic ticket. And by engaging and understanding the needs of partners – from GDS’s to ground handlers – StB facilitated the adoption of ET across the industry.

1: Making Sequential Numbering using Data Merge (files don’t have to be merged to a new ID file but can be merged directly to a new PDF): Episode 6: Making Sequential Numbers for a Data Merge – YouTube

The Montgomery County Historical Society and NCR Corporation joined in 1998 into a partnership committed to preserving the historic and voluminous NCR Archive. In 1999, NCR moved an estimated three million items from NCR’s Building 28 into the Historical Society’s Research Center.

The sequential numbers required for the stationery are typically prepared in a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel and then exported as a txt or csv file for use with the Data Merge palette. However, a free script called Indys Number Generator written by Stanislav Antos can create sequential numbers without having to open any spreadsheet software. The script has been available for some time but I feel it is a hidden gem and definitely worth discussing.

If you work in a business where you need to sequentially number items, you might be wondering if there is a way you can use Word to create the labels for you. Word has many ways you can implement some type of numbering in your documents. For instance, you can use different fields for numbering, or use numbered lists, the captioning feature, or you can use mail merging. While all of these features (and more) use some type of numbering in them, they are not all well suited to creating labels.
