“sequentially numbering pages in word |sequential numbering in word mail merge”

Entering a series of sequential numbers into an Excel spreadsheet, one per row, can be a time-consuming and repetitive task. Rather than performing it manually, however, you can automate it, although the process varies slightly depending on whether you want the numbers to remain the same or change to reflect their new position if you move, add or delete rows.

Tip  Using the same logic for removing underlining from a number, you can make the paragraph number bold without having the text of the paragraph formatted as bold. In the Customize window of the Bullets and Numbering dialog box, choose the applicable level and click Font. Select Bold, and click OK twice.

I completely understand the desire to make it look logical and sequential and user/auditor-friendly. And at first, the numbering system seems ideal. As others have pointed out – and as you’ve realized – things change, organizations evolve and so too does the documentation. Rather than become caught up in the numbering, focus on who owns the documentation, the document control process and the method by which documents are created as new processes come into play.

Word’s Numbering Explained by John McGhie, MVP – comprehensive and not pretty (Downloadable pdf file in letter size) – Reading this is vital to anyone attempting to use automatic numbering or bullets in a law office setting or other places where the documents are likely to be reused or heavily edited. See also How to Create a Template with a downloadable template with style-based numbering. I strongly recommend that you read both of these before doing anything with the contents of this chapter.

Making a set of raffle tickets is exceptionally easy to do with our Microsoft Word based raffle ticket template system. Simply download one of our raffle ticket templates to your computer. Next, open the raffle ticket template in Microsoft Word. At this point you can customize your raffle tickets by adding/editing text material.

It seems rather complex to me and I know I’d be missing zeros and ones all over the place trying to maintain this system.  If you insist on keeping everything associated with management commitment under #2 why not:

If there are multiple instances of the NEXT VALUE FOR function specifying the same sequence generator within a single Transact-SQL statement, all those instances return the same value for a given row processed by that Transact-SQL statement. This behavior is consistent with the ANSI standard.

Changing the numbering display affects how pages are indicated in the InDesign document, as in the Pages panel and in the page box at the bottom of a document window. The numbering display also affects how you specify page ranges when printing and exporting the document. However, the numbering display does not change the appearance of page numbers on document pages.

In the other tab for the PONum field, I typed in txtPONum as you had mentioned earlier. It is just not generating a number. I don’t even know what question to ask now, ’cause I do not know where this is going wrong. I’ll keep trying something…

The Sequence Field has no switch to change the interval between numbers. It is always the next integer from the last one unless you are restarting the numbering. So, if you want a sequence of odd (1, 3, 5, 7,…) or even (2, 4, 6, 8, …) numbers, how can you generate it using the SEQ field?

I have the document already set up as a 2 page document, but with the script I provided in the link that I got from esmith’s post, it has the first page (white) as 1001, and the second page (yellow) 1002.

Learn how to sequentially number tickets in multiple locations like tickets that have a stub. NCR was acquired September 19, 1991 by AT&T Corporation for $7.4 billion and was joined with Teradata Corporation on February 28, 1992. As an AT&T subsidiary, its 1992 year-end headcount was 53,800 employees and contractors.[17] By 1993, the subsidiary produced a year-end $1.287 billion net loss on $7.265 billion in revenue. The net losses continued in 1994 and 1995, losses that required repeated subsidies from the parent company and resulted in a 1995 year-end headcount of 41,100.[17] During these three years, AT&T was the former NCR’s largest customer, accounting for over $1.5 billion in revenue.[17]

You’ll need to decide on a selling price. You don’t want to price them too high so that many people would find it too expensive. The lower the price of each ticket, the more tickets you’ll sell. If you price your tickets at $1 each, expect each buyer to purchase from one to five tickets. If your tickets are $5-10 each, each buyer will likely purchase no more that two.

You are able to customize the numbering scheme at any time: before, during or after you apply it. You can customize all nine heading levels or only the levels you are planning to use. Some fields in the Customize dialog box are the same as the Numbered List Customize dialog box. The fields unique to Outline Numbers are:

I have our folder structure set up based on our process flow. So basically our high level procedures will have their own folder and all of the respective processes and task lists will go in that folder. By using a good name for the file (enabling easy access) we would have all we need.

When John H. Patterson and his brother took over the company, cash registers were expensive ($50 USD) and only about a dozen of “Ritty’s Incorruptible Cashier” machines were in use. There was little demand for the expensive device, but Patterson believed the product would sell once shopkeepers understood it would drastically decrease theft by salesclerks. He created a sales team known as the “American Selling Force” which worked on commissions and followed a standard sales script, the “N.C.R. Primer.” The philosophy was to sell a business function rather than just a piece of machinery. Sales demonstrations were set up in hotels (away from the distractions of the buyer’s business) depicting a store interior complete with real merchandise and real cash. The sale prospect was described as the “P.P.” or “Probable Purchaser.” Once initial objections were swept aside and the P.P. admitted to internal theft losses, the product was demonstrated along with large business charts and diagrams. The deal was sealed with a 25 cent cigar.[8]

Click Print Preview to check the settings. (Publisher 2010 and 2013 does this automatically.) The ticket numbers should increase by one (Figure K) as they do in the Excel sheet. Publisher will generate enough pages to accommodate your entire list of values in Excel.

You cannot enter a blank space by pressing the spacebar—copy and paste a fixed-width space character from the document window instead. Note that plus (+) or comma (,) symbols cannot be used in section prefixes. (See Insert white space characters.)

CK Note: I strongly recommend reading the following article. It may save your sanity (or at least your job). See Word’s Numbering Explained by John McGhie. Somewhat easier reading and still very useful are Shauna Kelly’s articles (see above) on outline numbering and bullets.

John, Sorry for the delay, but I was away last week with limited Internet access. I assumed if you had a Save button, you would know how to put code behind it. To see the code behind a button, Select the button in Form Design Mode and open the Properties Dialog (Right click and select properties), on the Events tab there should be something in the On Click event of the button. If you click the Ellipses […] next to the event, it will open Code Builder where you can enter the code.

So which numbering system to be used for the project is one of the key questions that is to be answered at the beginning of the project itself. The question in ususally answered in the kick-off meeting. Normally – as most of the parties are reluctant to change their internally processes for a specific project, a drawing or the document tends to have multiple document/drawings numbers – one from the owner, one from the contractor and one from the Vendor.

Decide whether you want the first or last occurrence of the style that’s applied on the page. First On Page is the first paragraph (or character) that begins on a page. If there is no occurrence of the style on the page, the previous occurrence of the applied style is used. If there is no previous occurrence in the document, the variable is empty.

Note:  As mentioned above, when the Document ID service is enabled for any given site collection, a column is added to the Document and Document Set content types as the site collection level. The Document ID column is used to display the ID assigned to an item.

The 1985 Act (§2.c and §8.f) gives the NCRCB has the ability to select districts outside of the NCR to act as counter magnets, with a view to developing them further.[3]:2,10 Counter-magnet cities are identified as those that can be developed as alternative centres of growth and attract migrants to them rather than Delhi.[21]:121 The criteria for selecting counter magnet towns are: that they should have their own established roots and potential of growth,[21]:121 and should not be centres of either religious, strategic or environmental importance.[citation needed] The counter magnet cities should be given priority when allocating funding for development of land, housing and infrastructure.[21]:126

  1. If your tickets don’t require sequential numbering, you can find more templates at RaffleTicketTemplates.org. The tickets there are more the standard fare. They have different sizes, layouts, and downloads for both Microsoft Word and Corel Draw.
My heart sinks. It’s indented at 0.63, hanging at 1.27cm, no tab stop. For crying out loud! Why does it work when I’ve got the actual Normal.dotm file open, but NOT when it generates a new document BASED on Normal.dotm?
