7.  You can remove the outline and let the edge of the words give the object a hard edge.  You can also fill the object with a color or even make the word or number solid black and the class names white by using the Type Tool and highlight all the names and select a white fill AND a white outline for the names (to make them bolder) from the color palette. Figure 8.
With Corel PHOTO-PAINT & CorelDRAW, creating street art images, and later printing them out as stencils, is no problem. Actually, you have the perfect graphic software for this in front of you. Creating a Street Art editorial illustration for a magazine is no different, you just need a few extra tweaks and learn the word ’Superimposed’. This Street Art illustration will be placed on a brick wall. In others words, there is photo maniplualtion in play here.
CK Note: Word 2007 - 2013 interface has an different automatic numbering scheme which I have been told is much less subject to corruption. Microsoft Word 2010 Bible by Herb Tyson, MVP. However numbering is still very imperfect in these later versions. I still recommend following Shauna Kelly's step-by-step instructions (see above) if setting up numbering in a template or in a document likely to be heavily edited. If you start without doing this and end up with "spaghetti numbering," fixing it will be a very large chore!

Warning  Making even minor changes to an outline numbering scheme won't necessarily change the initial position you've selected in the gallery, but rather may create a new gallery position, overwriting an existing one. Because of this problem, attaching numbering to styles is strongly recommended. This is covered in greater detail later in this chapter and in the chapter on Styles.
When you are ready to restart numbering, you can use the technique above, or you can place your cursor inside a numbered paragraph above, click the Format Painter (the paintbrush icon on the Home tab under Clipboard), then click on the line where you want to restart numbering. Using Format Painter this way solves several paragraph numbering problems (the number sequence, indents, and inter-paragraph spacing) simultaneously.

With the Segment dimension tool, you also have the ability to measure the distance between the two most distant nodes in multiple segments. Using the Segment dimension tool , marquee select the segments, drag to position the dimension line, and click where you want to place the dimension text. You can also measure successive segments automatically by clicking the Automatic successive dimensioning button on the property bar, and marquee select the segments that you want to measure. Drag to the location where you want to place the dimension text and release.

The values for Number position (here called Aligned at), Text indent and Follow number with are in the Position section at the bottom. With multi-level numbering, you also have easy access to settings that control the type of numbering at each level, the characters before and after each level’s numbers (period versus parenthesis), and the list number style (1, a, I, etc.).
A best practice that we recommend to our clients is to create a base/folio master –with styled and positioned footers and current page number special characters– on which all other masters are based. This allows a footer that may contain date or issue information to be updated once and the changes are reflected in all of the master pages. If your masters only have current page number special characters then you can just add them to each master and the page numbers will be reflected when each master is applied to your document pages.
You can also set up page numbering so that the position of the page numbers is different on odd and even pages. You’ll find that most books take this approach so that the page number appears toward the left side on the left (even) pages and toward the right side on the right (odd) pages. This prevents the page numbers from being obscured by the book’s binding and makes them easier to see as you flip through pages.
So I spent some time trying to figure it out, playing with Normal.dotm and the various styles (List paragraph, List Number, List Bullet etc etc). And finally, when I've got Normal.dotm open (i.e. I'm editing that template file), I get my result: I apply a standard numbered list, and it comes up flush left (i.e. not indented) and hanging at 1.0cm (cos I don't use inches...) and with a tab stop applied at 1.0cm as well - funky stuff!
Note  If TAB and SHIFT+TAB do not work for changing the indents for outline numbering, you probably have the option Tabs and Backspace set left Indent turned off. To change this setting, from the Tools menu, choose Options. Select the Edit tab and check the option Tabs and backspace set left indent. As an alternative to turning this option on, you can instead use ALT+SHIFT+LEFT ARROW or RIGHT ARROW to increase or decrease outline numbering.

The heading here could be anything: affirmative defenses in an answer, articles in a contract, etc. It doesn’t matter; the technique is the same with only slight variations. The result is that you’ll have a heading saved in your Quick Parts that will be numbered correctly, no matter how many items you add or delete. This makes this technique particularly useful in building templates for common documents; because it’s always easier to delete than add, they’ll re-number themselves after editing.
I have started off small and we'll build this template up into a full invoice format that can run against the standard AR Oracle Report in 11i (RAXINV) ... those of you that are not EBSer's or are not interested in the invoice format, dont worry, you can follow along and apply the same principles to any data set. Could you maybe write an article about numbered lists and levels specifically. I’ve been struggling with the “restart after previous level” option. I’ll briefly describe my problem. I have a level one and two numbered paragraph list style. I don’t want the first level to display the number so I delete the number placeholder. When you do this the level 2 doesn’t restart anymore. Is there an option to restart numbering after a certain paragraph style instead of having to manually click the restart numbering option. The “start at” option (set to 1 for ex.) gives every paragraph in the list the number one which also boggles me. What’s the point of the “start at” option?

The fill tool allows you to set the fill pattern and color of your object. If you set it to “no fill” it will be transparent. If you set it to “uniform fill” it will just be one color. If you use “fountain fill” you can make a gradient of colors. You can also fill with a pattern or a texture or use “postscript fill” which allows for parametrized patterns.
CorelDraw is made to work with various other programs. Some of these programs, such as Corel PHOTO-PAINT, are designed to help make design easier in CorelDraw with its ability to do more with graphic design and editing outside of the use of geometric primitives. Images created in CorelDraw are usable in other programs as well. CorelDraw images may be exported in formats such as PNG and CDR, which can be opened in programs, such as Adobe Illustrator. These formats make collaboration with other designers and the alteration of images on other devices easier.
Keep your layout fairly but not absolutely symmetrical. Putting the balance point slightly to the left or right of center can make the brochure more visually interesting. Do allow enough white space to make the text and graphics easier to read.
