A very common usage for the Print Merge function in CorelDRAW is for adding numbers to tickets or invoices. Unfortunately it can be a bit of a hassle to create the list of numbers. When you have multiple tickets on a single printed sheet, it becomes even more complex as you want each stack of tickets to be in numerical order.

Zoom into the tickets where you have placed the text for the numbering and click on the data merge palette. This should be open already since we already called in the data file in Step 11. Place the text cursor behind the last letter of your text. Then click on the text data file (100.txt) in the Data Merge Palette.

Then, when you go to print, click on the “Setup” tab of the Print dialog, then check “Thumbnails” towards the bottom. Select the gang-up layout of the thumbnails from the associated drop-down list. Then print. Voila!!

It is a 2003 version and I have Office 2010.   The template has sequential numbering and displays 8 tickets on 2 pages, but I need 3000 tickets.  How do I add more tickets to this document.  I have looked online for tutorials, but most are for starting a ticket from scratch.  Please help!!

If you figure how many you have on a sheet that will be printing and the location it is pretty easy. I just do a quick round of numbering with Excel so the stacks come out in order. I haven’t found a way to get InDesign to do this, but I regularly have to do this for a couple of tickets and gift certificates.

When you are ready to print, you will need to either merge the data to a new document or straight to your printer. I recommend merging to a new document so you can preview the entire thing before printing. The icons look like (Merge to Document, Merge to Printer)

Open Word and create a new document and create one raffle ticket. You want to make it about the right size so that you can fit four tickets on the page. Leave space for the ticket numbers, which you’ll add in a minute. Something like this:
