Easy Numbering 123 is named appropriately. I downloaded the software and tried 1 test job. I printed out a bunch of sample tickets with no problem. It’s just one job, but tickets don’t get to complicated so it should work for us too.

Now for the tricky bit. Mail Merges usually have the one ‘recipient’ per page. So Word won’t pick out the next number in your list until it gets to a new page. By default, it’ll print you four tickets on each page, all with the same number. Then a new page, all with the next number. Etc.

Your finished file can then be printed on most inkjet or laser printers. After printing you can easily separate the tickets which are micro-perforated or hand out to team members to sell by the sheet or let them separate the raffle tickets as they are sold.

Keep your raffle design distinctive and consistent. Although smaller-sized raffles don’t usually run the risk of ticket fraud, it still helps to give your tickets a special touch for legitimacy’s sake. Something like a drawing specific to the type of raffle you’re putting on, or a quick signature can make the tickets feel more worth the money. [3] It’s a small detail, but buyers will appreciate the effort you put into each of them.

If you’d rather make your tickets from scratch, take advantage of Publisher’s “Insert” tab to add your own images or draw from the “Shapes” collection. Add the numbers in the same way, starting with Step 3.

Design and order your tickets. Once you’ve chosen a manufacturer and are in contact with them, it will come time to solidify the specifics of your order. Some of the bigger outlets will come with pre-made ticket designs you can buy more cheaply. Custom orders may cost more, but you’ll have a ticket with a specific look for your event.[14] Make sure to give the manufacturer all the information they require. This may include:

In either case, your proof will show a standard stub but your Admission Tickets will either have no stub or one with the information you requested.

Create a raffle ticket template in Microsoft Word. Word allows you to generate text boxes for this purpose. Aug 23, – Re: Adding More Pages to a Raffle Ticket Template It maybe easier to create a data base with consecutive numbers, you can do this within Publisher or Excel, Access, Word and other data bases. File, Page setup, Advanced

Just download the Raffle tickets with consecutive numbering and matching stubs from the Microsoft Office website. It is a 2003 version and I have Office 2010.   The template has sequential numbering and displays 8 tickets on 2 pages, but I need 3000 tickets.  How do I add more tickets to this document.  I have looked online for tutorials, but most are for starting a ticket from scratch.  Please help!!

Update the sequence of numbers of copied tickets by highlighting the number and clicking on the right button of your mouse. A drop-down menu will give you the option to update the field and the system will automatically update the number in sequence. Each ticket must be individually updated before printing.

Add specific codes to coupons to track customer responses     Use different codes for your different marketing messages, advertisements, or promotions. These codes will enable you to keep track of how customers learned about your offer. The more you learn about who is drawn to your business and what attracts customers’ attention, the better you can focus future marketing efforts.

Note: Keep in mind that what you are saving is not the set of coupons or gift certificates that you have printed. Rather, you are saving the publication with its connection to your data source and its placeholder fields. By saving the publication, you can quickly create another set of coupons or gift certificates when the need arises. The publication maintains the link to the data source that you connected it to so that you can jump ahead to the previewing step.

Your raffle might be subject to gaming commission or tax laws. Check with your municipality, state or province, and federal governments to make sure your raffle is legal. These government departments aren’t just enforcers. They are often great resources on how to run a successful fund raising raffle. Raffles are fun! Getting in trouble with the law or tax man is not.

Measure out your tickets. If you are keeping your raffle fairly small (>50 people), it is just as easy to write up the tickets all by hand. Take a ruler and cut them out in rows and columns so that you have a bunch of tickets of the same size. If you’re making enough tickets in the raffle to be worth several pages of paper, you might try measuring them out and cutting them all at once. However, this time-saving technique shouldn’t be tried unless you know you’ve gotten your measurements down perfectly.

Does anyone know of a script like this or would they also have a use for it? I wanted to create the script like this for a long long time. So that it can generate custom labels right in the document. Maybe even place barcodes.

• On the document page, override the items by Command/Ctrl-Shift-dragging over them (or clicking on them). • Select that one page and duplicate it in the Pages panel, or by choosing Layout > Pages > Duplicate Spread. • Select the original page and the duplicate and then copy those. Repeat this (select pages and duplicate) until you have enough pages. Unfortunately, InDesign isn’t exactly speedy at updating these numbers when you add a bunch of pages.

In this tutorial I will be teaching how to make the numbers using a tool called blending, which works to fill. Ticket numbering using corel draw X7 and Number-Pro. Easily number raffle tickets, benefit tickets.

Do that again after the number on the third ticket on your page, BUT NOT THE FINAL TICKET ON THE PAGE. Because the final ticket is at the end of the page, and the number will increment automatically at the end of a page. If you put a ‘Next’ field there too, you’ll jump two numbers.

We also want to setup right away the crop marks for the tickets. Create another layer and call it “crop marks & score marks.” We will place the crop marks and the score line onto this layer. Start placing crop marks that you create with the Pen Tool (P) around the ticket.

If the second number on your raffle ticket is one higher than the first number, you must have accidentally put the <> tag after the first number (causing the next number, on the same ticket, to increase by one). You only need the <> after the second number on each ticket, so the next ticket gets a new number. (But you don’t need it on the final ticket on the **page**, because the next **page** automatically gets a new number)

Based loosely on how many tickets you hope to sell, enter a number in cell A1. Standard raffle practice tends toward numbers with at least a few digits, so instead of starting with 1 you might start with 10001.

On an email receipt, the airline code and ticket number is located in the middle of the page. In this example, you would enter 2100067917 in the ticket number box if American Airlines is selected as the airline flown. Enter the 3-digit airline code preceding the ticket number if any other airline is selected. The 001 is already provided to the left of the box.

I’m not sure what you’re doing – the ‘/’ should be ‘\’ and the very first ticket # should not have the ‘\c’. See the attached. It has the FILLIN field in the first SEQ field as described in my http://ringringpromotions.org post. Simply press Ctrl-A, then F9, input a starting # and all the tickets will update.

You need at least one space to make the autonumbering kick in. Now Option/Alt-click on the Autonumbering button in the Control panel (or choose Bullets and Numbering from the Control panel flyout menu) and choose the list you created in the Lists pop-up menu. You might want to adjust the other settings to match this: Now you’re done. Click OK and you should see the number appear in the text frame.

One of the easiest ways to track the success of marketing pieces like gift certificates and coupons is to add a tracking number or code to each gift certificate or coupon that you distribute. When gift certificates or coupons are redeemed, you can use these tracking numbers to record and categorize customer responses.

Supermarkets also offer a good avenue for the sale of raffle tickets. Most of them normally allow one to sell the raffle tickets just close to the exit. It is good venue since people will opt to spend their loose change to get the raffle tickets.

If you’re intent on doing your tickets by hand, it’s recommended that only one person make them. That way, the handwriting will be consistent for each one, and it will be easier to spot a dupe if one occurs.

What if I need to create 200 vouchers and each has a unique code not in any sort of numeric or alphabetical order. The codes are listed in excel under one column. Of course, there are third-party solutions that are available for creating sequentially numbered labels. One that comes highly recommended by several WordTips subscribers is Bates Labels from Payne Consulting (http://www.payneconsulting.com). This free Word template allows you to easily create as many labels as you need for a specific purpose.

Next, choose a font and font size for the number (select the code with your mouse and change the font), and add other body text and formatting. Finally, merge the label, card, or sheet “x” times with the LABLCOPY macro (found here in the Library). You’ll get consecutively numbered labels/cards/sheets — as many as you need.

I used the CS3 directions to number 500 tickets both at the top and bottom of each ticket 4 up on a page. This method worked great and really didn’t take very long at all. I dudplicated several spreads at a time to create my 125 pages of tickets ( 4up = a total of 500 numbered tickets). Thanks so much for the help!

If your tickets don’t require sequential numbering, you can find more templates at RaffleTicketTemplates.org. The tickets there are more the standard fare. They have different sizes, layouts, and downloads for both Microsoft Word and Corel Draw.

Contact a manufacturer. Whether you’ve found a local ticket producer or an outlet online, you need to get a hold of them before you can order your tickets. Online companies will have their contact info somewhere on their webpage. Drop them a line, introduce yourself and let them know you’re interested in purchasing raffle tickets. Be sure to let them know roughly how many tickets you’re looking to buy, as well as the date you want to have them by. A representative should respond within a business day to take things forward from there.

Numbering raffle tickets can be a rough project to tackle without the right tools. Luckily you can number raffle tickets or any other document or form with a desktop publishing software program you may already own like Microsoft Word, Publisher, Adobe Indesign or CorelDraw or any desktop publishing software that has a mail merge function.  Then all that is needed is a program that can create the mail merge file you need to number your tickets like starting number, ending number, prefix and so on. And for that program we suggest Number-Pro.

This will insert a special field to force Word to go to the next number in your spreadsheet for the next ticket on the page. You can’t see this special field, though, unless you click the little {a} button in the Mail Merge Manager box:

If you’re producing any http://thedailyrant.net of numbered items in-house that are multiple-up on a sheet where you need to control all the variables to meet your production needs, the autonumbering feature through numbered lists is the way to go! Just step and repeat away & InDesign will do all the work. No need to fool with a seperate “numbers” file or deal with a data merged document. I think it’s by far the best option for basic numbering.

More details about running a raffle for fundraising can be found in the ‘Lotteries FAQs’ section on the Gambling Commission website (gamblingcommission.gov.uk). Or contact the licensing officer at your local authority.

Hi Cathy – I’m not sure what would cause that to be honest. Because (even with these instructions!) it can be quite hard to get Word to do this right, I did build a little web-based service to do the same thing. Have you tried that? http://app.raffleticketcreator.com

1. Create a text frame on the Master page, while dragging, split the frame horizontally and vertically using arrows on the keyboard (Gridify your frame), this way all frames are threaded, you may do the same on both pages of the Masters (Spread) but make sure you link last frame of left Master page and first text frame of right Master page.

At this time, decide how many tickets you want to print. You can choose All and print 5,000 or you can choose to print only a certain amount. For instance, you may want to print records 1 to 500 to print only 500 tickets. If you need to print more tickets later, you’ll want to print records 501 to 1,000 to print another 500 tickets.

I normally use “Data Merge” in InDesign and use Excel (or something like it) to generate the list of numbers for me. You would copy the numbers into a text file so that InDesign can read them as the merge data source. Note that you would have one ticket on the page and then let InDesign set the other tickets on the page (you can tell the Data Merge control panel about spacing).

Will this work if open the file as a PDF in InDesign? Exactly how would you set up the columning in excel say for numbering 4 part NCR , 1000 sets with prefix text and then what is the link process in Indesign? would appreciate the detailed steps for both

The next step is to create the simple Excel workbook that contains the ticket numbers. Open a blank Excel sheet. Using Figure B as a guide, create the ticket numbering sheet and save it, making sure to note the new workbook’s name and location. As we discussed earlier, the Excel workbook stores the ticket numbers. In this example, we’ll create 11 tickets numbered 100 through 110. You’ll need to update the ticket values for each merge.

Right now I’m making a straight sequence of numbers (two to a ticket). There are 3000 tickets (3001-6000 for an example) so my numbered list is double that since there are two to a ticket. Right now my flow is this:

Running a raffle at events can boost profits, whilst also building links with local businesses. As raffles fall under the terms of the Gambling Act 2005, we asked the Gambling Commission – what do PTAs need to know?

This probably won’t get to you before I need to solve my issue but I am having the following issues using Mac Word 2011- starts at 2 instead of 1, and then skips numbers every new page, i.e. 5 tickets/page numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 -no 7- next page starts 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 – no 13- all the way through to 1300. This ends up eliminating 900+ tickets. Not sure if others have had this issue as well- I can’t seem to find anything online.

You don’t need to be so much worried about how you will get the prizes to award the winners. In each community there are certain organizations or businesses that recognize the importance and the hustle that one goes through in selling the raffle tickets, these businesses or organizations will be quite instrumental in catering for the prizes. Alternatively you could choose to have a 50/50 raffle which implies that half of the donations or cash will have to be given to the winner of the chosen raffle ticket and the remaining amount will be retained by the organization or group which was responsible for the sale of the raffle tickets. This kind of arrangement is common among the youth and the surrounding community is mostly receptive and helpful to those raising the funds.

This simple raffle ticket design made of two parts. Top part (ticket) is very basic, and the space is limited to the name of your raffle event. Bottom part (coupon) is for the participants who do not need to fill in their information (name, address and phone number).

Open a new blank document in Word. Create two raffle ticket designs, one for the person who buys the ticket and one for the organization selling them. Make sure to connect the two tickets, for example by making them in two-cell tables, side-by-side. Include the name of the organization, perhaps the first prize, and any other information you want on the buyer’s ticket. You might, for example, include spaces for the buyer’s name (“Name__________”) and phone number on the organization’s ticket. On both tickets, enter a dummy number for the raffle ticket number as a placeholder.

I use a little program called “Number It” I purchased on E-bay a couple of years ago. It will print the ticket (from bmp file) and number on the Canon 3200 in one pass. BW or Color. Nice little program and well worth the $50-80 price.

Rather, I was just admitting that I had no idea why someone using CS3 would not see the dialog boxes as they are shown above. If you’re using CS2, they would be significantly different. But the second part of the tip (where I show the numbering dialog boxes) relies on CS3 or later. If you are using CS3 or CS4 and you don’t see that dialog box, feel free to email me at david [at] indesignsecrets [dot] com and send me a screen shot of what you are seeing. The script that Mike referred to worked very well with CS2 and was fairly easy to extend to doing counterfoil numbers as well, but doesn’t seem to work with CS3. I have thrown together a small online script to generate the contents of a data source file to do ticket numbering through the normal CS3 InDesign data merge routine.

To make the data file you fill the first column starting with the first number in the first row and put the second number in the first columen second row, and soforth, filling the column downward in in consecutive order until the correct number of rows is reached, then you start with the next number in the first row of the second column and work down again. This should make it clear that every row represents a stack of ticket. A spreadsheet like Excel can auto-fill the grid for you once you have enough numbers in place to establish the pattern, generally three in either direction.

Based loosely on how many tickets you hope to sell, enter a number in cell A1. Standard raffle practice tends toward numbers with at least a few digits, so instead of starting with 1 you might start with 10001.

Football, Baseball, Raffles, Prom, Graduation the list goes on. The worse part is each is different and has to have x number in this color that color it can be very frustrating. Then to top it off I have the most random number of requested tickets sometimes and it was extremely difficult to find a method that worked and yours did!

Online Proof: Our online proof is there to give you an idea what your tickets will look like. If you’re not happy with the proof just tell us to send an actual proof (Our Artists have a lot more flexibility then the online proofing). If you’re adding a logo there is no need to request a proof. In either case complete your order and you will receive a proof the next business day.

The number of the ticket is the only thing that changes. If you’re starting to sell tickets that are in the double or triple digits, you can add a digit to the front. However, given how fast numbers can be written by hand, this may not be worth the trouble.

Creating a sequential list of numbers, in Word, sounds like an intimidating task. Sure, you can create a numbered list quickly enough, but that feature works with additional text – you’re numbering something. If you want a list of just numbers, you have to work a bit harder. Word’s SEQ field might come to mind, but that solution is better suited to template-type numbering. In order words, this field works great if you’re numbering documents, labels, and so on. It doesn’t work so well if you just want to create a list of sequential numbers. You can use it that way, but it’ll be more work than it’s worth.

You can request us to change the stub ie, instead of Name, Address and Phone ADMIT ONE, name and date of your event. (This is helpful if you are pre-selling your tickets because your seller can retain the stub portion for record keeping. If you prefer no stub, place your order and select “tickets with no stub”. In either case, your proof will show a standard stub but your Admission Tickets will either have no stub or one with the information you requested.

A raffle is a gambling competition in which people obtain numbered tickets, each ticket having the chance of winning a prize. At a set time, the winners are drawn from a container holding a copy of every number. The drawn tickets are checked against a collection of prizes with numbers

Got it to work! I modified my spreadsheet and added a header row with the words “Ticket Number” in field A1. Then I left the checkbox checked when I imported the spreadsheet to Word. That seemed to make it happy. THANK YOU!! This was so helpful!!

Enter your own text into the template once it is opened in Publisher. Click in the text boxes on the template to enter text. To change the color of the text, highlight it and use the tools under “Format” and “Font” to change the font color.

If your tickets don’t require sequential numbering, you can find more templates at RaffleTicketTemplates.org. The tickets there are more the standard fare. They have different sizes, layouts, and downloads for both Microsoft Word and Corel Draw.

My script looks for the object-name and replaces all the numbers at the end of the text-string. Example: TEST010111 start: 9 how long is the number-string? 5 > TEST00009,TEST00010 and so on every marked object with the specified objectname will get the new string. I have another script that places the marked object(s) in a user-sized sheet after editing the quantity X and Y and the space between the objects.

Back in the document, select your dummy number in the first ticket. Click the button “Insert Merge Field,” then select the one entry in the drop-down menu, which will be the first number from your spreadsheet.

Please Note: This article is written for users of the following Microsoft Word versions: 97, 2000, 2002, and 2003. In most cases, the text resizes automatically to fit within the text box. If you want to control the text size, click the text box. On the Format menu, point to AutoFit Text, and then click Do Not Autofit. Select the text, and then choose a new font size from the Font Size list on the toolbar.

I’ve heard of programs that you can use that fill these in but I have no idea how to use them/find them/if they’re reliable or if they do exactly what I need them to and if they’ll output to a postscript printer properly.

The raffle ticket paper is pre-numbered and pre-perfed and is available in two different sizes (Large Tickets – 2 3/4″ x 8 1/2″, Small Tickets – 2 1/8″ x 5 1/2″) with 20 different paper colors for each size.

The trick is this: I creat an ‘template’ of the card, somewhere outside of the page. All object for data are text object, with all the formating needed. In place of the photo is an rectangle. The script read an text file (CSV) with the database, duplicate all template object, one by one and replace string in text object with the string from DB and import photo in place of the rectangle, redimension and convert to RGB or CMYK, acording to the initial data (atach.) When the page is full, create another one.

Note: By default, Publisher opens the My Data Sources folder first. If you saved your data source in a location other than the My Data Sources folder, browse to the location where you saved your data source.

In this tutorial, we’ll explain how to do an easy setup in InDesign for automatically numbered tickets. We will look at the handy “Data Merge Tool,” which is a great time-saver. Let’s jump into this quick tutorial!

Does anyone know of a script like this or would they also have a use for it? I wanted to create the script like this for a long long time. So that it can generate custom labels right in the document. Maybe even place barcodes.

Number Pro is an easy application that lets you create a data file that easily integrates with InDesign, Corel Draw, Microsoft  Word, and Publisher. Raffle ticket numbering, multi-part forms, documents etc., using the data merge or mail merge aspects of these various software applications. Number with ease and print on your home or office printer.

The four templates with automatic serial numbering are quite nice and one of them will most likely be suitable for your needs. You can edit them as well. If you’re going to do that, save the original template separately. Doing so will give you a fresh template, in case you need one.

I am printing many pages of tickets. Each page has 5 tickets and I would like to sequentially put a number on each ticket. I have tried to use the auto page numbering feature but that is putting the same number on each of the 5 tickets and then increments for the next page — not what I need. Also, can the numbering not suppress the leading zeroes? Thanks….

Note: If you have already created a business information set, your business contact information and logo automatically replaces some of the placeholder text. For more information, see Create, change, or remove business information data.

The very first step you need to do is to drag your cursor towards the Help icon in the new word document. This icon usually appears in http://ringringpromotions.org right part of the top portion of the tool bar listing. It is depicted by a question mark symbol. You have to left click on this menu with your mouse and you need to opt from the type of help listed in the drop-down carte du jour. (Ticket Invitation Templates Download)

A raffle is a gambling competition in which people obtain numbered tickets, each ticket having the chance of winning a prize. At a set time, the winners are drawn from a container holding a copy of every number. The drawn tickets are checked against a collection of prizes with numbers

Generating numbered tickets in Microsoft Word document might seem quite challenging and a taxing task if you are a novel user who is not adept in handling Word documents. You might have made numerous attempts in exploring Word templates and might have been fruitless, depressed and annoyed with all the alternatives and problems that you might have come across while trying to comprehend how to create tickets in Word.

You can now print raffle tickets at home or at the office when you use our raffle ticket templates and raffle ticket paper from Blanks USA. Do it yourself and keep more of the raffle profits for your team or organization.

My quick process involves setting up a row of plaques with a01, a02, a03, thru a09. Then copy the plaques to the clipboard. Run the REPLACE TEXT feature to replace “a” with “1”. Move row down and paste clipboard back into page. Run REPLACE TEXT to replace “a” with “2”. Repeat until I get all the numbers. It’s faster than manually typing the numbers in but I know there’s go to be someway of automating the process.

2. Check the existing document for prepopulated ticket numbers. Some Publisher templates include these. Click any numbered box to enable it, then click the “Delete” key to remove it, as you want to start your own sequence. Scroll through any other pages that may have been included with the template, and remove all of the sequenced numbers.

To make more numbers, just duplicate this frame. Every time you make a new frame, InDesign increments the number automatically. Note that in the following image, the frames are not threaded together: Master Pages You may be tempted to place this number on a master page.

The trick is this: I creat an ‘template’ of the card, somewhere outside of the page. All object for data are text object, with all the formating needed. In place of the photo is an rectangle. The truth is that creating event tickets are quite unfussy, undemanding and unproblematic. One of the effective methods for crafting numbered tickets for events is to rummage around for pre existing Word templates which can be adapted, customized and modified to suit your needs.

Create an Excel worksheet that has as many numbers in it as you need. For instance, if you need 175 labels, you would place a title in cell A1 (such as “Number”) and the 175 numbers you need in cells A2 through A176. Make sure you save the workbook.

WordTips is your source for cost-effective Microsoft Word training. (Microsoft Word is the most popular word processing software in the world.) This tip (1492) applies to Microsoft Word 97, 2000, 2002, and 2003. You can find a version of this tip for the ribbon interface of Word (Word 2007 and later) here: Sequentially Numbered Labels.

12. To build the document, you will add the first merge field, the room number. To do this, choose Room from the Field list box, and click Insert Print Merge Field. This will place the variable on the document. Next, choose Subject from the Field list box, and click Insert Print Merge Field once more. Now both variables are inserted in the CorelDRAW document.

It’s pretty easy in Excel. Take your number of tickets you’ll get on a sheet, divide 20000 by that number. That will be your number of rows. Type a 1 in the A1 cell location, type =(A1+1) in the A2 cell location. Paste that in as many rows as you determined. Copy the last cell in your first column. Paste that in cell B1. Copy B1 and paste in as many rows as you had in Column A. Copy column B and paste in column C. Copy C and paste in Column D. Repeat as many times as you have tickets on a sheet until you have enough columns as you do tickets on a sheet. Save as Tab deliminated text and bring into data merge on an imposed sheet. Data merge should be able to build you a document easily with as many sheets as you need and on a 1 knife trimmer you should have neatly stacked tickets in order.

Hi – are you creating your own tickets using the instructions on this page? If so, you can of http://sl-inworld.com change the font and everything else in your Word document. If you are using the Raffle Ticket Creator app (app.raffleticketcreator.com) then you can’t change the font size … you’ll just need to tinker with the exact words that you are including in order to get them to fit on the page. Hope that helps!

Note: By default, Publisher opens the My Data Sources folder first. If you saved your data source in a location other than the My Data Sources folder, browse to the location where you saved your data source.

Smile! Be friendly and approachable. You’re raising funds for a cause that you’re passionate about, so let that shine through. People respond to genuineness, and when they can see how much you care, they’ll be more likely to buy from you.

Create your own tickets using your favorite graphics program like Photoshop, Microsoft publisher, or Word. The using Number-Pro you can easily add numbering to your tickets in multiple places. Raffle ticket numbering has now never become easier.

I answer readers’ questions about Microsoft Office when I can, but there’s no guarantee. When contacting me, be as specific as possible. For example, “Please troubleshoot my workbook and fix what’s wrong” probably won’t get a response, but “Can you tell me why this formula isn’t returning the expected results?” might. Please mention the app and version that you’re using. I’m not reimbursed by TechRepublic for my time or expertise, nor do I ask for a fee from readers. You can contact me at susansalesharkins@gmail.com.

Click that, and a placeholder will appear where your cursor was, which will later insert the ticket number at that point. Do that twice for each ticket (once for the counterfoil, once for the main ticket). You should end up with something like this:

Summary: Need to add a unique serial number to each printed copy of your document? Here’s a quick way to print such numbered versions. (This tip works with Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000, Word 2002, and Word 2003. You can find a version of this tip for the ribbon interface of Word (Word 2007 and later) here: Using Sequential Document Serial Numbers.)

In trying to produce 300 tickets, I can get all of the first numbered position to be sequential over 100 pages. But, when moving down to the second or third ticket position on the page and setting up the numbering, I repeatedly find that I get a repeat of the first 100 numbers. I am lost as to how to proceed. Is there any other missing step or info that I am assumed to have knowledge about that was not mentioned above? If you know of some other site that might explain this process any better, please post.

Use CorelDraw to layout the raffle ticket template. You can use the label design tool (located under “Page Setup” on the “Layout” menu) to create a raffle ticket template. For instance, if you choose a label template with four boxes in a row, the first and third boxes contain the raffle ticket while the second and fourth boxes represent the ticket stub. After choosing your desired label size, enter text and images to create the custom template, then print the document on card stock paper instead of label paper.

If you got to the end of these instructions, then well done you! If skipped to bottom, then maybe consider trying this online tool to design and print your own raffle tickets without battling with Excel and Publisher! You can design awesome tickets and print them at home, just with a few clicks, all in your web browser:

Brilliant! I followed your instructions to the end, though I had to Google how to do a mail merge in Publisher 2010. But, with your help, I now have gorgeous raffle tickets of my own design! Thank you 🙂

It doesn’t work so well if you just want to create a list sequential numbering in word sequential numbers. You can use it that way, but it’ll be more work than it’s worth.

If you’re producing any kind of numbered items in-house that are multiple-up on a sheet where you need to control all the variables to meet your production needs, the autonumbering feature through numbered lists is the way to go! Just step and repeat away & InDesign will do all the work. No need to fool with a seperate “numbers” file or deal with a data merged document. I think it’s by far the best option for basic numbering.

ADVICE FROM LICENSING OFFICE: As long as your prizes are in sealed containers a TEN would not be required, however you may need a TEN for other attractions at your event or if your event itself is considered ‘regulated entertainment’. If someone who appears to be under 18 wins an alcoholic prize, checks should be made to verify their age and good practice is to withhold the prize until it can be given to someone of 18 or over.

Based loosely on how many tickets you hope to sell, enter a number in cell A1. Standard raffle practice tends toward numbers with at least a few digits, so instead of starting with 1 you might start with 10001.

Choose between numbers or letters, set a start value, end value, and how the values increment. If you want leading zeros, check the box and define how many—usually this is as many spaces as your end value has. You can also add characters or words before or after the numbers in the Prefix and Suffix boxes.

Nicole – I’m not sure. Are the page and margin settings (from step 1) definitely correct? If each ticket was a little too big, so that only two tickets could be fitted on each sheet of paper, that might create the problem you’ve experienced. Other than that, I’m baffled …

(Ticket artwork courtesy of. Thanks, Mordy, for pointing out this site!) CS3 List Numbering A significantly more elegant way to handle numbering in InDesign is to use the autonumbering feature in CS3. (CS2 also has an paragraph numbering feature, but it’s not nearly as powerful.) First, create a numbering “list” by choosing Type > Bulleted & Numbered Lists > Define Lists. Then click New to create a new list. You can name it anything you want, but make sure the Continued Numbers across Stories is enabled: After you click OK and close the Define Lists dialog box, create a text frame and type any character (such as a space).

Remember that you must update the values in the sheet if you want to continue the numbering series with the next batch of tickets. For instance, if you want your next batch of tickets to start with 112, you’d open the workbook and change the value 100 to 112, and update the remaining values accordingly. Don’t forget to save the workbook after updating the values.

10. Back in the document, select your dummy number in the first ticket. Click the button ‘Insert Merge Field,’ then select the one entry in the drop-down menu, which will be the first number from your spreadsheet.

I’m trying to skip a couple numbers in the sequence. Is there an easy way to do that? I’m building an auction catalog with over 830 items but some of them aren’t going to be listed in the catalog. Is it just easier to restart numbering at that point? Thank you!

Create your own tickets using your favorite graphics program like Photoshop, Microsoft publisher, or Word. The using Number-Pro you can easily add numbering to your tickets in multiple places. Raffle ticket numbering has now never become easier.

It depends what the design is for the tickets. But if you set up primary text frames, linked for the area for the numbers, you can create a numbered list with the numbering format you want. Then, just pour in a whole load of paragraph returns that have that numbered list applied. And make sure each numbered paragraph is set to start in the next column.

You can stick with the design in the template or create your own. To change the design, just click and delete the existing graphic or background you want to change. Click the Add Image box from the menu on the left, then browse sequential numbering in word find the new image you wish to use.

Nowadays when you explore the internet you will be bewildered by the number of Word templates which has in itself several varieties of event tickets for you to use conveniently. Microsoft Word gives you options to avail those tickets as they appear on the template or you can make it creative, artistic and alluring at your wits’ imaginative power. You can even slot in images for a better appeal!

If you need leading zeros then just format the column as text. The ticket numbering problem seems solved, if awkwardly. But what about linking automatic numbering of text references to a figure (e.g. “see fig.101″) to a legend of that figure (e.g. 101 shows.”)?

Now, you can start putting images and text into here. But you can also insert the ticket number and inspirational quote in by inserting a Text Field. Clicking on those will add autofill textboxes into the merge area.

Given that Word can support 2,147,483,647 SEQ fields, the whole job could be done in a single document containing 30,000 tickets. On my system, creating such a document took only a few minutes and, once created took about two minutes to update the fields – and that was with about 40,000 pairs of SEQ fields coded as {SEQ Ticket \# 00000} and {SEQ Ticket \c \# 00000}. This number formatting is enough to go to 99,999 tickets.

The problem with your document is that you have put everything into textboxes instead of into the table cells you have below them. You also don’t need the \* MERGEFORMAT switch that every SEQ field in your document now has.

Now click on the Microsoft Office Word Help option. Consequently, to the right side of the word document, a support box will pop up. I work at a quick copy shop as the in house designer. They JUST moved from manual numbering to digital and each job keeps building and getting worse since I brought digital numbering to their attention. I mean it’s super easy if there’s one number but two per ticket and 8 up? It’s hard with limited tools but doable.

With all of the many available templates, how do you select the right ticket design? It’s a good idea to choose a design featuring a background image that in some way fits with your fundraising purpose. This ties your efforts together in a cohesive way, making your tickets more attractive to buyers. A good design gives potential buyers an idea into the type of cause they’re supporting right off the bat. If you’re raising money for a sports organization, choose a template featuring sporty images. LIkewise, a template with musical notes on it fits in well for a band-related fundraiser. However, if you need a basic template that works for any function, we have simple designs that fit any general need. It’s best to use something other than general copy paper when printing raffle tickets. Heavier weight paper, or even card stock, could be a better choice. Not only does it look more professional, but the tickets will tear off more easily along the perforation. Choose paper colors on the lighter end of the spectrum so that the template design shows up clearly when printed. Office supply stores and craft stores carry papers in various weights, and these are both good places to buy card stock. Some stores sell raffle ticket paper that’s already perforated, so using this type eliminates one of your most time-consuming tasks.

Create the sample label so that it has the word Exhibit followed by a merge field that represents the number being pulled from the Excel worksheet. Make sure the label contents are formatted the way you need them.

This program makes you adept for not only creating event tickets but also generating attractive resumes and different menus. Starting number for raffle tickets: Unless you specify otherwise they will start at 001. You can specify to begin at 000 (lottery raffles) or any thousand increments such as 2001 or 3,001, etc. If reordering, specify the starting number in the “comments” section.

Click Preview & Print to review your design. To make adjustments, just click the Customize button to go back to the Customize screen. When your design is complete, just click the Print button to create the PDF file. Open the file, and your tickets are ready to be printed.

Error Message: I/O Read error The flash drive I am using to move files decided to give me this i/o read error on all or most of my corel files. My back up files too. I’ve done a recovery but files still…

This can be done digitally as well. Not all digital print shops can do it, but any decent one can (so not Kinko’s). I assume they will handle the cutting as well, so they can determine the best way to arrange the numbers.

Microsoft Publisher, the desktop publishing component of the Professional version of the Office Suite, can perform many time-saving tasks for busy business owners, including layout and design work. It can even help you avoid a shopping run to try to find tickets for your next employee picnic, holiday giveaway or executive board meeting. With a few tricky manipulations of the page number process, you can start running the numbers in an entirely new fashion.

If you work in a business where you need to sequentially number items, you might be wondering if there is a way you can use Word to create the labels for you. Word has many ways you can implement some type of numbering in your documents. For instance, you can use different fields for numbering, or use numbered lists, the captioning feature, or you can use mail merging. While all of these features (and more) use some type of numbering in them, they are not all well suited to creating labels.

Currently, look for the option your organization name on the downloaded template and bring the cursor over it so as to type the name of your organization or charity concerns, for whichever purpose the ticket is intended for.

To make sure people get their prizes, give them lots of room to print their name, address, and phone number. Some people are leery about giving out their address, but do make sure you get a printed name and phone number.

“raffle ticket generator software -how to create numbered tickets in indesign”

Create an Excel worksheet that has as many numbers in it as you need. For instance, if you need 175 labels, you would place a title in cell A1 (such as “Number”) and the 175 numbers you need in cells A2 through A176. Make sure you save the workbook.

Click Print Preview to check the settings. (Publisher 2010 and 2013 does this automatically.) The ticket numbers should increase by one (Figure K) as they do in the Excel sheet. Publisher will generate enough pages to accommodate your entire list of values in Excel.

On a master page, create a text box. rightclick/insert special character/markers/current page number (also under the type menu). Have your ticket image on the master page too, then just create x number pages for x number of tickets.

1. Create a new Excel spreadsheet. Based loosely on how many tickets you hope to sell, enter a number in cell A1. Standard raffle practice tends toward numbers with at least a few digits, so instead of starting with 1 you might start with 10001.

See to it that there is a place for the show name as well as the movie name. This is a key feature for any movie ticket. It should come out clearly so that the one buying the ticket will clearly see the name of the movie they are going to watch to develop some interest in it. The ticket number should also be brought out clearly but this should not obscure the movie name to enable many to buy the ticket.

I had wanted to create a file that didn’t require Excel as the data source, so I created one using SEQ fields. It was terrible and too huge to mention (thanks Doug Robbins), so I recreated it using Word as the data source so that people who only have Word can use it. You can create up to 5,000 tickets without changing the data file. If you only have Word and need to create more than 5,000 tickets, please don’t type the ticket numbers. Just drop me an email and I’ll create another data file for you with the required numbers.

Since it’s a group of people who have chosen to raise fund using this means the format of the raffle ticket has to be the one agreed upon by the group. The initial stages will thus be those of trial and error as each person will have his/her own opinion of what should be the format and design of the raffle ticket. This site recognizes that such challenges exist and the raffle ticket templates that we offer you will be in a design and format that most if not all of the people will fall in love with. After a certain format is accepted by everyone you will not have to worry about how to come up with new raffle tickets as these can be used over and over again.

2. At this point you need to check the selected ticket template thoroughly for any pre existing numbers. Many of the Word templates in the Microsoft Publisher come with numbers. If you wish to facilitate numbering then you can click on the number box or else you can give delete option to commence your own numbering series.

The SEQ or Sequential Numbering Function in Word is the best and quickest way to number your tickets. Many raffle ticket templates use them, yet few sites explain how it works. To see if it uses the SEQ function, you need to download the template first. Then, open it in Word, click right in the middle of where a serial number is, and then right-click.

I use a little program called “Number It” I purchased on E-bay a couple of years ago. It will print the ticket (from bmp file) and number on the Canon 3200 in one pass. BW or Color. Nice little program and well worth the $50-80 price.

The background image has a size of 22p5 by 5p6. You can choose any size as long as it fits onto your page. To fit the Rectangle Frame to the background image, select the Option + Command + C. This fits the frame to the content.

Zoom into the tickets where you have placed the text for the numbering and click on the data merge palette. This should be open already since we already called in the data file in Step 11. Place the text cursor behind the last letter of your text. Then click on the text data file (100.txt) in the Data Merge Palette.

wow, what a relief to find these solutions! I had to gang 250 stickers on a single page and number them sequentially (so, page numbering and master page solutions wouldn’t work). The tips for Indd ‘numbered lists’ worked like a charm, even tho I’m in CS5. This was a lifesaver; MANY thanks!

Make sure that your graphics are on point. Good graphics are inseparable from a good movie ticket template. Most movie lovers would settle for an eye catching movie ticket compared to a plain one, so spending your time in searching for an intriguing and catchy movie ticket template will come with high rewards.

It appeared designed for variable numbers in one place. My customer needed her tickets numbered in two places, on the ticket and on the stub. Because she needs them tomorrow there is no time to send them out to be numbered manually. I’ll keep watching this space for more info. Thanks folks.

Well, you could do it with two lists (using the List feature). Or perhaps you could do it with cross-references, like this: http://indesignsecrets.com/synchronize-text-in-more-than-one-place-in-an-indesign-document.php

1. Start Microsoft Publisher. Click inside the small field with the magnifying glass in the middle of the Available Templates page, then type “tickets” and click the magnifying glass icon. Review the Publisher ticket options, then double-click a template, such as “Raffle Ticket,” to open the design in the Publisher window.

This will insert a special field to force Word to go to the next number in your spreadsheet for the next ticket on the page. You can’t see this special field, though, unless you click the little {a} button in the Mail Merge Manager box:

4.  Type tool, place insertion cursor in the first text frame on page 1, (remember this frame is on the Master), apply your paragraph style you’ve just created, press and hold Return button as this will apply Paragraph Style and the cursor will jump to next frame.

If you are making the tickets ten-up you can put everything on a master page. Make the ticket number [Page Number][digit 0–9] then fill with pages based on that master. Page 1 will be tickets 10–19, page 29 will be tickets 290–299, etc.
