In trying to produce 300 tickets, I can get all of the first numbered position to be sequential over 100 pages. But, when moving down to the second or third ticket position on the page and setting up the numbering, I repeatedly find that I get a repeat of the first 100 numbers. I am lost as to how to proceed. Is there any other missing step or info that I am assumed to have knowledge about that was not mentioned above? Easy Numbering 123 is named appropriately. I downloaded the software and tried 1 test job. I printed out a bunch of sample tickets with no problem. It’s just one job, but tickets don’t get to complicated so it should work for us too.

In the example I explained, I was using a list, but did it with un-linked text boxes using “continue from previous number” and “continue numbers across stories.” I’m guessing that there is no way to tell InDesign that even though there are 4 text boxes on the page, that there are two different lists? I’d probably have to just create two threaded stories for that scenario to work.

In the Mail Merge Recipients dialog, you have the opportunity to customize the list. We want all the numbers (Figure F), so don’t uncheck anything before clicking OK. When applying this method to your own work, remember that you can exclude recipients at this point.

Click on Update Labels in the “Mailing” ribbon, and this will roll out the formatting to all the cells. You can click “Preview Results” to see what the tickets will look like when printed, and you can navigate pages and tickets by using Next Record, Last Record, Previous Record, or First Record.

I work at a quick copy shop as the in house designer. Scissors aren’t recommended for cutting if you’re selling your tickets. You probably won’t get a straight cut out of them. Instead, a ruler and a craft precision knife can get you an even cut that looks like it was done professionally.[1]

It’s pretty easy in Excel. Take your number of tickets you’ll get on a sheet, divide 20000 by that number. That will be your number of rows. Type a 1 in the A1 cell location, type =(A1+1) in the A2 cell location. Paste that in as many rows as you determined. Copy the last cell in your first column. Paste that in cell B1. Tombolas are often run at non-commercial events, such as school fetes, and so normally offered as a type of lottery called an ‘incidental non-commercial lottery’ under the Gambling Act 2005. Drag your cursor on the Font toolbar on the top of the ms word document and formulate necessary alterations. If you are troubling to find ways to include images to make your ticket look appealing and rich, then you need not worry. Just put your cursor on the Insert option in the tool bar and hit on it to add appropriate images befitting the occasion.

Open a new blank document in Word. Create two raffle ticket designs, one for the person who buys the ticket and one for the organization selling them. Press Ctrl+V for each additional row of labels you want. You want enough rows of labels to meet your entire needs. Thus, if you need a total of 125 labels, and you can get 3 labels per line, you should end up with 42 rows of labels.

An awesome new feature to has been introduced to Microsoft Publisher 2010 is the ability to use Data Sources to create “Catalogue Pages”. This is like a Mail Merge for design documents. Now, I would have to agree that Publisher isn’t the best graphic design program in the market. But it’s certainly adequate for simple ticket designs — for example, for a school social. Let’s say we want each ticket to have a unique number and an inspiration quote. This is all possible through Publisher and a data source, e.g. an Excel Spreadsheet.

On a carbon copy ticket, the airline code and ticket number is located in the upper right corner of the ticket. In this example, you would enter 4481640297 in the ticket number box. The 001 is already provided to the left of the box if American Airlines is selected as the airline flown. Enter the 3-digit airline code preceding the ticket number if any other airline is selected.

Thanks very much for your prompt reply, which reassured me that I was on the right path. From having read various Help topics, I suspected that I’d have to use an Excel data source for the numbers. Fortunately, my knowledge of Excel was good enough to know about the drag and drop facility to create automatic sequential numbering, so the data source creation was easy. In the end, it was the mail merge (no surprises?) which proved a tad tricky, but I got there in the end. I’ve used MM many times and quite happily in Word documents, but for Publisher label format, it was of course a bit different. The important bit that I had to discover for myself was the significance of, after getting to the Print stage, going into Print options, to Publication & Paper Settings, and selecting Multiple Pages per Sheet (& in my case, also “Single-sided” cos my default of duplex printing had come up). You can use the same feature with Publisher. Although you might not think of Publisher as an Office app, it comes with several different versions of Office. In this article, I’ll show you how to print sequentially numbered tickets using Publisher and Excel. This article provides instructions for Publisher 2007, 2010, and 2013.

It’s pretty easy in Excel. Take your number of tickets you’ll get on a sheet, divide 20000 by that number. That will be your number of rows. Type a 1 in the A1 cell location, type =(A1+1) in the A2 cell location. Paste that in as many rows as you determined. Copy the last cell in your first column. Paste that in cell B1. Copy B1 and paste in as many rows as you had in Column A. Copy column B and paste in column C. Copy C and paste in Column D. Repeat as many times as you have tickets on a sheet until you have enough columns as you do tickets on a sheet. Save as Tab deliminated text and bring into data merge on an imposed sheet. Data merge should be able to build you a document easily with as many sheets as you need and on a 1 knife trimmer you should have neatly stacked tickets in order.

Go to the very top of the document before all codes and click Format, Page, Insert Page Number. This time, do not click Insert (you already have page numbers in the document); instead, click the Value/Adjust button, and set the page number to whatever beginning value you desire, such as “3001”. Click OK (or Apply, then OK). Then click Close to close the “Insert Page Number” dialog and return to the document.

If you place multiple frames on one page and apply the same numbering style, InDesign will count not be placement but order of creation. That is the reason why I get this weird order on the picture above.

Starting number for raffle tickets: Unless you specify otherwise they will start at 001. You can specify to begin at 000 (lottery raffles) or any thousand increments such as 2001 or 3,001, etc. If reordering, specify the starting number in the “comments” section.

It is recommended that you provide the time and venue of the show unless you have a fixed location for the movies. By providing these details you will save yourself the stress of having to persuade watchers to pick up the movie tickets.
