Enter the total number of rows that fit in the detail section of the document’s middle pages when you print a document with more than two pages. You specify this value so that the system calculates the total number of pages used to print a document. If you do not complete this field, the system uses the value that you enter in the Detail Section Total Number of Rows field as the number of rows for the first page.
This leads to another often-ignored topic, that of file naming conventions. What I mean by this is how and where you save the computer file in your computer system. I know more than one company that has a policy that all documents must be approved by a specific person and the document isn’t considered implemented until that person saves it up on the file server. We recently purchased Fusion Pro Desktop 7.1. I’m having trouble with our first numbering job. We’re printing & numbering 3 part carbonless forms. I have it 2up on 11×17. Each number has to repeat 3 times, then go in sequential order from 26850-28351. So all together it’s 4,500 parts on 2,250 sheets that will be cut in half. So numbers 26850-27600 have to go sequentially through one side of the stack, and numbers 27601-28351 have to go sequentially through the other side of the stack. That way we can just cut it in half & everything can be in order. I know this program can do that, but I must be missing a step. We can cut the paper in half before we send it if necessary, but we’ll be charged twice as many clicks so I’m trying it this way first to save the owner money.

Not if you’re printing digitally, and we are! We’ll print as many colors as you like and it won’t cost any more than printing one color. Black ink is less expensive than colored ink, so black and white tickets are less expensive than colored tickets, but once you’ve chosen color tickets, go ahead and print rainbows if you like! It won’t cost any extra.
Is it acceptable to have long and difficult-to-read and remember numbers? Yes, of course! Is it practical? I do not believe so! In the example above, the procedure numbers, without the tab, contained seven digits. This meant that the system was prepared to handle almost 10 million part numbers (PN). The company had approximately 250 documents and probably would never go beyond 300. If nothing else, just reading these numbers with five sequential zeros may give one a headache. Those folks figured it out too – that is why they called document 0000057-001 “fifty seven.” Surprisingly, this is not the worst case I have experienced! The company that won my “The Worst Part Number” Grand Prize assigned 12 (!) digits to their part numbers in alphanumeric format.

Versions control numbers are not mandatory. They can be assigned when adding a document or checking in a document and can be modified, separately for each document version, at any time. By default the version number is carried over from the last version when document is checked in. Version numbers don’t have to be unique. A version control field can have an optional prefix, but it doesn’t have to be unique.

For larger numbers, increase the interval between each sequence and use that number of pages. What I suggested is based on 34 pages of 6 so the interval is 34. For each additional page of 6 you would increase that interval between the starting numbers by one.
